Freed death row inmate: 'I want to go get something to eat'

I think the biggest new evidence is that being black and convenient in the south isn't enough.

Ford's trial had been "profoundly compromised by inexperienced counsel and by the unconstitutional suppression of evidence, including information from an informant." They also cited what they said was a suppressed police report related to the time of the crime and evidence involving the murder weapon.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Yet another reason why the death penalty is WRONG and should be abolished.

That will happen in First World States as they have in First World Countries.

In America's version of the third world... do not hold your breath

Wondering how, in 30 years this never came to light before. Surely there must have been appeal after appeal. And, 30 years on DR is wrong...and $340K in punitive damages is a joke. I'll bet you give that guy 340 large and he's dead or broke in 2 years.
Please don't dent the planet.

One key witness/informant admitted to falsely testifying at the trial.

The perjury was committed because the "witness" got a break by giving the DA this guy.

And none of them will go to prison for what they have done.

Personally I think the DA who would prosecute in that way needs to go to jail for life.

I agree. We should make that law as well as the death penalty.
I think we should give them the same sentence they were a part of securing.
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama
