I have my own nice little patch of mountain if the need arises.

Randy Weaver thought the same of that small slice of mountain in Northern Idaho now knows as Ruby Ridge and look what happened to him and his family. Of course he was dumb enough to allow the authorities to trick him into selling them some illegal weapons. But the guy really just wanted to be left alone on his mountain and the Feds still went after him and people died.

I think they will be far more interested in people who have more of a vested interest in upsetting the apple cart. Yes look at Ruby Ridge... HUGE compound... joining groups who were in the face of the government... making threats.. stockpiling weapons...

Just food for thought...

Huge compound? Huh? it was one family living on a mountain. Yes Randy Weaver was not the sharpest crayon in the box for some of his actions prior to the initial raid. But the Feds purposely went after him and these groups you speak of joining Ruby Ridge only acted after the shit had hit the fan. Just bringing this all up because you say you have your own slice of mountain and you claim that you can defend yourself on your mountain. If you come under the radar of the US government, your destiny likely won't be any different than the Weaver family.

i admit that is a big one. the only one i really worry about. but with the way these screwups happen, i have no problem using them to my advantage. we spill over 94 million tons of waste per year. how many have you heard about? the only reason i have heard of any is facebook and activist pages. 84,000 tons of coals ash in nc, 3.5 million gallons of raw sewage in nc, 10,000 gallons of fracking fluid (proprietary compound) in wv, and one i forget. just in a month. the other big thing is getting voters to turn out.

***I wish you "well" in this. It's a no brainer that life needs clean water and clean air, but Americans are short term thinkers. That one little flaw can ruin the health and well being of future generations.

That is one of the incongruities that I could never understand about most conservatives. So many support corporate interests that do nothing but lobby to obliterate the Clean Water Act... the EPA... and anything that is seen as being tree hugging and Conserving the environment that we all rely on as human beings.

How many billions have the Koch brothers spent in fines for polluting indiscriminately??

How much have they spent buying conservative politicians who will dismantle anything and everything to destroy anything that protects the very water and air that we need to live?

How many Americans need to die of cancers and poisons so they can make a few more billion dollars. You don't think there are democrats in the oil or coal industry? and...... how many democrats take dirty money from the oil industry.http://www.opensecrets.org/industries/indus.php?ind=E01 No doubt it's lopsided who got the money, but they still took it including Barack Hussein Obama.

Just food for thought... If you're interested in one side of the Ruby Ridge story, read, "From Ruby Ridge to Freedom The Sara Weaver Story". She was there and gives a pretty compelling account of how the US Government went after this one family. They weren't in some "huge compound". They were in a little house.
