Considering a high school in Georgia had its first ever integrated prom in 2013, I don't find it so odd that this conversation is taking place. There are certainly communities where racial descriptors take on more prominance than any other descriptor.
sfzombie13 324 #53 February 7, 2014 the thing i find odd is that there is a group that is so offended by the use of a racial descriptor in police descriptions. not that they can be offensive. it is all in the context. i.e.: i was talking to a guy the other day and... or: i was talking to a black guy the other day... this i could understand being upset over. i hear it all the time, but try not to take offense. on the other hand, a cop looking for a suspect in a crime should have as much information as possible for two reasons, to make his job easier and to avoid unnecessary harassment of innocent people. my fault, i was not clear in the previous statement._________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes
SkyDekker 1,465 #54 February 7, 2014 Honestly, I don't think they have an issue with the racial descriptor. I think they have an issue with how society and cops react to and deal with the racial descriptor.
rehmwa 2 #55 February 7, 2014 SkyDekkerHonestly, I don't think they have an issue with the racial descriptor. I think they have an issue with how society and cops react to and deal with the racial descriptor. This is likely true. Yet, in true 'moron' fashion, they then attack exactly the wrong thing in trying to fix what's really bugging them and which, in execution, will once again make the base problem even worse. No group in history has ever had as uniquely poor a track record of making things so much worse with just about EVERY SINGLE decision, than the PC crowd. If I was driving at 80 MPH at a brick wall, and I had one of these idiots in my car, I would fully expect him to advise me to speed up to 120, aim for the center of the wall, and then talk earnestly about how important it is to use this technique in order to not crash into the wall right until impact, which is also very important as well. (though I never neglect the possibly of it just being ANOTHER group of PC idiots, unable to connect cause and effect, looking for about any cause just to try and feel important) ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
