Well, the Nascar thing sure was random!! So You're saying they can't race on Sundays, but football, basketball, hockey or any other event is ok? Just seems odd that you would single out Nascar without listing others to accommodate.
Anyway, I seemed to have struck a nerve on the gay thing! I will admit that I don't know as much about what's in the Bible about that subject as some, but I do know that it's considered to be a sin, so if the good lord considers it a sin, it must be a choice. IF it's a genetic thing, or a sickness, how could it possibly be considered to be a sin?
It is the same as someone who smokes, or drinks! NOT picking on either, just making a point. People who smoke or drink, do that because they choose to do so, it's not genetic, or hereditary! It's a choice! Same goes for gays, they choose to go against nature, and bed down with their own sex! We all know that the male and female body was designed to fit together for appropriation, so how can it be said that it's not a choice? I've heard that song and dance before that it's genetic, or whatever you want to call it, but it's still a choice to go there if one so chooses to do so! It's just like nuts and bolts, or pipes, you HAVE to have a male AND a female thread or fitting for it to work CORRECTLY! You don't plug the male end of a cord in to the male end of another cord. It don't work very well, does it?

No, the NASCAR thing was based on you being in the south. It was an easy target and I didn't want to make a huge list of "sinful" activities people participate in on the Sabbath. I know it's big down there, and football is more focused on college level (played on Saturday). Pro football is a pretty easy target too. They play with the "Skin of a Pig." Clearly prohibited. My point is that if you are going to focus on "sin", then it's pretty hypocritical to focus on who someone sleeps with, while ignoring the huge amounts of non-religious activity on the Sabbath. The "Bible thumpers" seem to ignore this.

And making scientific judgments based on what is in the Bible is really foolish.

Denying people basic human rights on it is too.

Again, the scientific evidence that it isn't a choice is pretty overwhelming.

And you didn't answer my question about why you get to force your religious beliefs on everyone else.

1) It is also a sin to have sex outside of marriage (a choice)...but I don't see many people pitching a fit about that...let alone passing legislation.

2) Saul said you can't re-marry if you get a divorce (a choice). Still legal, though.

3)I don't see many laws on the books about keeping kosher (a choice).

The seminal scripture about homosexuality is Leviticus 20:13. A few verses before, it prescribes death if you curse your father or mother. A few verses after, it requires that you eat kosher. There are also several verses about having sex with sisters, aunts, mother and daughter, etc. Why are all of those others part of the Old Testament to be ignored and that ONE must be made law?

Yes, having sex is a choice. And heterosexuals make that choice over and over...even when it is clearly prohibited by the Bible. Then, some of them want to tell homosexuals they aren't allowed to do the same thing and try to get laws passed to make it illegal. Pretty convenient that you pick out parts of the bible that let you do what you want and try to enforce parts that constrain others.

If you have had sex outside of marriage; if you have divorced and re-married; if you are not keeping all of the dictates of the OT Bible (also in Leviticus 20), then please give it a rest. Go back and read the part about helping someone else with their splinter while you have a log in your eye. Take a deep breath. And let others live their lives without your enormous wisdom.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Well, we can't go against nature can we? After all these are Christians who believe in a Savior who was born of a virgin, walked on water, changed the water into wine, cured the sick, rose from the dead, and went into the heavens without an airplane. Sure, tell us more about how only natural actions are good...
