Fascinating to compare with another map of your choice.

***You make it sound as if there's some vast right-wing conspiracy. It's as if people choices and behavior had nothing to do with it. :S

And where exactly in his two post does he even remotely blame anyone?

Did you see the map?
It's obviously a red-state/blue-state conspiracy!;)

Could the rise in obesity have anything to do with this trend? Obesity has been described as approximately 10% genetics, 10% physical activity and about 80% diet. We choose what we eat. If we choose poorly, if we eat all the wrong foods, we gain weight and our health suffers.

Some people may need help being educated in how to eat healthier. But no amount of Big Government programs will make people eat healthy. If someone wants to eat better and live a healthier life, they must be proactive. It's not easy, but the choice is a personal one and people must take personal responsibility to ensure they eat the right food if they want to live longer healthier lives.

Oh and what's with this slant on "Women's Life Expectancy"? I guess when Progressives are bored playing the Race Card they jump on the Gender Card bandwagon.

New here? He's been thumping on about life expectancy for a few years. He's just culled the herd with this group.

Foolish People are still making their foolish choices, same as always. That doesn't account for this shift. Clearly, it's something else.

John is to hating the right wing as Ron is to Christ.

Are people really that different from country to country? So the northern Europeans are smarter, on average, than Americans? :)

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Ummm - interesting correlation YOU noticed there, since I just suggested you draw your own conclusion. Thanks for pointing it out.;)

I made no conclusion whatever about the data. However, it seems that the right wingers see something in the data that they have to get defensive about.

Obesity is NOT a gender issue, and here you are making it one.

No. Here, YOU are making it one. That Article cites several possible causes. Obesity is never named in the article. Lots of thin, poorly educated, high sodium/highly processed/low nutritive value food eating Women also die young.

Has domestic violence been considered?

That would certainly fit the presumptive pattern, along with shitty diets and, importantly, smoking.

Where did I mention obesity?

So the declining health of tens (if not hundreds) of millions of Americans (notice I did not focus one only one gender) has nothing to do with obesity? Really?

Where did I write that?

Are you hallucinating?

I don't live in a vacuum John. Perhaps if I had never read one of your postings like this before I might reach a different conclusion.
