You mean like Al Gore, Michael Mann, James Hanson? Yep, instead of wasting billions on their AGW snake oil, we could have invested in schools and education to help the children who will ultimately bear the cost of this folly.

Hey talk to the people you are electing.. they are the ones cutting ALL those silly "social" programs so they can funnel more TRICKLE up to those who have bought and paid for them.

Ah - so you admit that Algore is bought and paid for.

So Obama and Harry Reid are cutting social programs?

Reading is fun da mental. Last I checked Al gore has not been cutting social programs.

And I really don't think the Bubbas around here voted for either one of the people you mentioned.

I would be rolling all over the ground laughing my ass off if you voted for either on of those fellas.:ph34r::ph34r:

There are a lot of disgruntled voters that did vote for Obama.

*********So quick question...

What is P Gosselin's Koch sucker loading???

Those thermometers are real Koch lackeys.

Still want to know the Koch sucker loading on those who are being paid to see nothing

You mean the climate alarmist community who have been paid big money to see something, are seeing very little, and are pulling out their hair trying to explain why we aren't seeing what they promised we would see?

The climate community has to face up to it. The people saw the data and the facts before the alarmists got in front of it and spun it. It doesn't take a Ph.D. To realize that nobody can remember such a lull in hurricane activity. We were promised more hurricanes after Katrina. Oops. Now we trumpet up "Superstorms." Or we find people praying that a typhoon in the Pacific has 195 mph winds and claiming it does, only to later admit that Haiyan only hit 145 mph.

The climate science community brought it on themselves. It took well-paid scientists to tell us how bad it was and how much worse it was going to be. It took lay people to say, "why isn't is as bad as they said it would be?"

And now well-paid scientists are coming up with efforts to explain why it isn't happening. The Koch brothers have nothing to do with it. Blaming the Koch brothers is like Obama blaming the press for covering his scandals. Sure, in one sense the President is correct - there would be no scandal if the public didn't know about it.

Yours is evidence of the antiscience attitude among the progressive camp. Because you have no interest in science. You'd rather knock some enemy (your absolute favorite is the Koch brothers) than pull out whatever evidence supports your view.

Politics has so perverted this whole subject that it's ridiculous.

Another clue in the Antarctic "mystery".

From your article.

De Lavergne cautioned that the heat-storage effect is localized and not related to the so-called global warming "hiatus" — the recent slowdown in the rise of global surface temperatures.

"Our study is still a hypothesis," he added. "We say that climate change is preventing convection from happening, but we do not know how frequent it was in the past, so that's a big avenue for future research."

Environmental and safety record[edit]

Bloomberg reports that from 1999 to 2003, Koch Industries was assessed "more than $400 million in fines, penalties and judgments."[38] Daniel Indiviglio, in a reaction piece appearing in The Atlantic argues that the Bloomberg article is biased and misleading, asserting that the Bloomberg team "only found eight instances of alleged misconduct by a giant multinational over the span of 63 years".[39]

In 2000, for its 300 reported oil spills which had taken place across six states, Koch paid the largest civil fine ever imposed on a company under any federal environmental law for the illegal discharge of crude oil and petroleum products. In a settlement with the U.S. Justice Department and the state of Texas, the company agreed to pay a "$30 million civil penalty, improve its leak-prevention programs and spend $5 million on environmental projects."[40][41][42][43][44][45]

In 1996, an 8-inch-diameter steel LPG pipeline operated by Koch Pipeline Company ruptured near Lively, Texas and began leaking butane gas. The vapor cloud ignited when two residents drove their pickup truck through the flammable vapors to get to a neighbor's house to call 9-1-1 to report the leak. The two were killed in the explosion, and approximately 25 families were later evacuated from the neighborhood without injury. An investigation conducted by the NTSB found that the pipe section which failed had not been shown to have excessive corrosion in a 1995 inspection. Regulations at the time did not provide criteria for "adequate cathodic protection."[46] Koch also stated that the bacteria-induced corrosion acted quicker than had ever previously been recorded in the industry. The explosion was the only event of its kind in the company’s history. In 1999, a Texas jury found that negligence had led to the rupture of the Koch pipeline and awarded the victims' families $296 million - "the largest compensatory damages judgment in a wrongful death case against a corporation in U.S. history".[38][47]

In 2000, a federal grand jury returned a 97-count indictment against Koch Industries and its individual employees for environmental crimes relating to excess emissions of 85 metric tons of benzene, a known carcinogen.[48][49] In 2001, Koch Industries was fined $20 million, of which $10 million was a criminal fine and $10 million to clean up the environment.[50]

AND THAT.. is just the big turds that have floated to the top of the Koch Cess Pool

Your Koch bros have nothing to do with this thread. Please start your own.

Uh no.

Their family and their companies have a significant input on polluting our air land and water no matter where they have operated for nearly 100 years.

Ostrichism aside.. the conservatives who worship them really should get to know who their Lordly Oligarchs really are and figure out how many puppet strings are attached to all the groups they fund that tell conservatives how to think.

Might as well start discussing Warren Buffett and his coal empire. Look at Berkshire Hathaway's greenhouse emissions disclosures. Right. Won't find them because it doesn't disclose it. $5 billion per year in BNSF's revenue comes from coal transport. Hence he's fighting oil pipelines like hell.

What's the difference between the Koch brothers and Warren Buffett? The latter has great PR. The former doesn't.

I think she's pointing out the FACT that we can do a good job of tracking the finances and money being spent to muddle the waters, so to speak, that those people spend each year to deny GWT and fund ex physicists (that have no credentials about current research,) and other popular media attempts to sway public opinion. What the Koch Brothers have done to PBS media is a crime, but PBS is quite happy because their coffers are full, as long as they stay away from "controversial" subjects.

On the other hand apparently the pundits of GWT have billions to spend????? I say prove it!

Now there is a problem????? Prove that Pro GWT science has the cash to promote their viewpoint????? We are speaking about the thousands of the most educated, and poor'st population on the planet, but somehow they have billions to spend???? Logic????

On the other hand it's very easy to see that 500 million, is a drop in the bucket to ensure the flow of oil and the rape'ing of the land both of the open pits and acid rain and 500 million doesn't come close to what they actually spend promoting their view of science. All hail The Emperor, and could you pass some more peacocks tongue's on the nice new Lead plates ????

The info is all there for those that take the time to look. :)

Apparently you can't tell the difference between a slowdown and a cessation.

And "so-called" because a slowdown isn't actually a hiatus.

I am being generous. According to NOAA, 2013 was COLDER than 2010. The climate scientists from NOAA said that the global average temperature for 2010, was .66C, and the global average temperature for 2013 was .62c. Now I an not a highfalutin physics teacher, but I learned in kindergarten that .66 was more than .62. In this regard, there is not a hiatus to the warming, there is a cooling.
