I found the last couple of lines interesting. The family of the murder victim have given up trying to get the government to do the right thing. They see it as pointless.

I am seeing lots of that in Europe. They are so used to being ruled over that they don't even argue against it. The tax system is oppressive. They have few rights. Those few rights are not stable. Beurocracy is rampant and arbitrary. It's really depressing to watch. I think / fear the US is sliding that way.

I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
