But "Indian Law" might have allowed Indians to scalp white folks even though "White Folk Law" frowned on that activity. I don't think anyone can do it legally now. My family got here after all that was mostly sorted out, so I'm not sure what the protocols were.

Are these the burnings from 2008? I didn't watch the video. Don't want to. But back in 2008, several people were killed.

It's only been the last few months that the video is making a comeback. The new allegation - which was not alleged in the years prior - is that the people doing the burning are Christians. I suspect someone came upon it, figured it must be Christians who did it, and put that out there.

It's kinda sucky, since in the interior regions of Kenya the Christians, Muslims and traditional religions coexist quite nicely and respectfully. There are lots of Christians there. And Muslims. And traditional religious. All together.

One of the interesting things to note is that the ones who got immolated are very old. And land owners. With heirs who have decided that they've waited long enough for their inheritances. Get people riled up over the witchcraft thing and it becomes a mob. And understandable. Who likes witches? Nobody! They must be killed and in public because that's what happens to witches. Can't have them casting spells on people. (As an aside, check out what they do with albinos over yonder. It probably aint Christians doing it.)

I'm not saying it isn't Christians who did it. We don't know. Some people have put it out there, though. And it's happened pretty recently. They are new allegations for old acts.

it's not in the bible, but the inquisition where the burning came from. something to do with them going to burn in hell and getting them ready for it in one version and in another it was the small chance that by being burned alive, they would be absolved of the crime and be allowed to enter heaven.

I doubt witchcraft would get such a response in Africa. Many of the religious practices that originated there look just like witchcraft. Some of those practices are intermixed with later religious systems such as Christianity. I'm sure the people there are pretty used to chickens being bled, bones tossed, and blood drank at religious services.

Guys this is Africa shit like this goes down all the time, its rarely religious. The problem with the "witch docktors" is they believe using the organs of children (you need to kill them to get those parts) will cure all sort of shit (much like the Chinese believe rhino horns will give you a stiffy). I am not saying this is what happened but know of a couple of other examples where the witches were killed in retaliation by "Christians" who obviously did not share the same believes as the traditional healers.
