but the list was for places to visit, not live. And Shanghai definitely is a place to visit. Perhaps a more interesting destination than Beijing.

any list that puts Chicago over New York, London or Rome is the Maxim Hot 100 of Travel lists.

Chicago is a place people have to visit from time to time because some of their clients ancestors were forced there by the inability to survive in NY, London or Rome. Its not a destination for pleasure. Its a place that people from relevant cities are held over at. No one who has a decent east coast education (read real education) believes otherwise.

Well, that leaves me out. When I think of Chicago, all I can come up with is Richard Speck and the Chicago Stock Yards. Oops I forgot about all those neat people (from Chicago) who were running the dropzone at Lake Wales, Fl. years ago.

True, but he is implying that Chicago is a great place. I can't agree with it being on that list or #6. I have spent time in Chiacgo - By force, not choice and each time it is a great day when I leave.

Well, I'll be honest. I had a good trip there once when I was a kid. But once the blinders of youth came off, I saw it for what it really was. And I have fun each time I am there... But because of the company, not the location. The bean didn't impress me, not a fan of baseball or American Football. And the museums were OK, but I have been to better in places like DC and NY.

I'd put a place like Barcelona, Spain any day over chicago. I've been there for a site survey. Came in from 57 and as far as you can see on either side was crappy housing projects. No thanks.
