davjohns 1 #3 November 8, 2013 It's a step in the right direction. I prefer something much more blunt, but that's pretty rare in politics. One of the things I respected about Bush was a comment one time when a reported asked whose fault something was. I don't recall the issue. Bush said, "You want to blame someone? Blame me. I'm the President." I've found that taking responsibility for mistakes usually ends the issue. Personally, I would take it all better if someone came out and said something like, "The website doesn't work right. We pushed to get it up too fast and didn't have the right people in place. We've got the right people in place now. We're going to delay to next year so it can be tested properly. Mistakes were made. They will not be repeated." Take whatever controversy point you want. I picked the website. Just admit mistakes were made; summarize your plan to fix it; assure people that mistake will not be made again; move on.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

lawrocket 3 #5 November 8, 2013 What Dave said. I'm baffled that this President would say he's sorry since last week he was blaming the insurance companies for it. But it IS a step in the right direction. Disappointing is that he didn't say what he was going to do. Just that he was working on it. But yes, a politician saying mea culpa is a rare enough thing to really take notice. My wife is hotter than your wife.

Its astounding that with the amount of lies this man spews, anyone would believe that he's actually sorry based on a stupid little snippet. When he actually fixes all the damage he's done and scraps this abortion of a healthcare law and then begs for forgiveness, I'll believe him.You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions. "The problem" is we are approaching a situation in this country where more than half the country (including people here illegally) are on the greatest free ride in the world, and they would forgive the devil himself as long as they keep riding (and voting). IMO what you post will never happen In the end, this is NOT about Obama! This is about liberalism Control of the health care systme is the holy grail for liberals So Liberals will throw even Obama under the bus if that is what is takes to save this world view in their own minds. And, in doing so, they will blame the racists of the other party to satisfy this twisted ideologyI can't understand it either in the end I may disagree with many here on this sight but, save for a few, I dont think any of them to be stupid. And the facts are now clearly showing Obama and the dems flat faced lied to the people. To sell a law and to get their mesiah re-elected I would think that many of them would feel used at this point And it appears many of them are feeling used today. Did you see the poll that just came out asking who they would vote for today in an Obama Romney contest? Does not mean much, I know. But interesting none the less"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Another question I have is whether or not people here will finally admit it. I doubt it.Maybe they will wake up and stop lying to themselves, but hey, maybe one day Superman will show up and e will rename the country "Metropolis." Contrary to what I see here and in other commentary, the President is far from stupid. I think anyone who is honest has to admit that some of the things he (and others) said to sell this legislation were bunk from the beginning. He knew it. Others supporting the legislation knew it. I knew it. Anyone who was paying attention knew it. There was never a way for everyone to keep the plan they had. Some people were carrying coverage just for catestrophic events. Obviously, that was going to change. There was no way to cover everyone and reduce the average household cost by $2,500. That was just stupid. If you want more, you have to pay more. Then, there's the government oversight you have to pay for as well. Pass it to find out what's in it? That one might have actually been true. Given what was promised vs what we are getting. Nancy slipped up and told us the truth on that one. Who knew? Of course, she made up for it by saying everyone's premiums would go down. You see, if you say "you can keep it. Period." or "everyone" or "average", people stop asking questions. It seems a definitive answer. If they said, "most", "some", "many" or the like, people would have instantly asked, "Where do I fall?" That's a question they weren't ready to answer. Reduce the budget deficit? Not even if you had a fiscal magic wand. Yes. Lies were told to sell the public some legislation. The public still didn't want it. The public got it anyhow. Not the first time. Not the last time. Got a problem with it? Take it to the polls. My guess is that the overwhelming majority of Americans will still vote a straight party ticket...like usual. Character doesn't count. Results don't count. All that seems to matter is that MY SIDE WINS! While we all go down the tubes.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. rushmc 23 #18 November 20, 2013 I think, as this point, all we need do is sit back and watch this lovely signature law, take care of itself http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/health-reform-implementation/190844-obama-hits-new-low-with-dems-at-capitol QuotePresident Obama’s relationship with congressional Democrats has worsened to an unprecedented low, Democratic aides say. They are letting it be known that House and Senate Democrats are increasingly frustrated, bitter and angry with the White House over ObamaCare’s botched rollout, and that the president’s mea culpa in a news conference last week failed to soothe any ill will. Sources who attended a meeting of House chiefs of staff on Monday say the room was seething with anger over the immense damage being done to the Democratic Party and talk was of scrapping rollout events for the Affordable Care Act. “Here we are, we’re supposed to be selling this to people, and it’s all screwed up,” one chief of staff ranted. “This either gets fixed or this could be the demise of the Democratic Party. “It’s probably the worst I’ve ever seen it,” the aide said of the recent mood on Capitol Hill. “It’s bad. It’s really bad.” Meanwhile, at a recent caucus meeting with Senate Democrats and White House chief of staff Denis McDonough, one senator stood up and asked for a political point of contact at the White House. “There’s been an increase in frustration because people feel like they are continuing to be blindsided,” said one Democrat who attended the caucus meeting, adding that there’s a “check-the-box” mentality at the White House in dealing with lawmakers. And of course there is the non-stories by the main stream media can anyone imagine the "republican party is split/falling apart" stories we would see if this disaster was happening to them?"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
