wmw999 2,562 #1 November 7, 2013 Here is an interesting view of political belief, generally focusing on what each side sees as positive about itself (rather than what the "other side" sees as negative). There's a US version too if you want to parse the differences. I need a bigger screen to do that Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. turtlespeed 226 #2 November 7, 2013 One of the first things I saw was that the left wants more personal freedom. You can't have more government and more hand outs and still have more freedoms.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
airdvr 210 #3 November 7, 2013 Too stark a contrast. It's never that black and white (blue and red?). These are the things that pit R against D and cause the absolute embarassment of a congress we have today. Please don't dent the planet. You can't have more government and more hand outs and still have more freedoms. Of course you can. Look at the left's support of government intervention to support gay rights, womens' rights, minority rights, etc. All those resulted in more freedom and all required government action. You are just blinded by your mindless support of the right's dogma.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

mrubin 0 #8 November 7, 2013 I don't understand why everyone only focuses on the differences and not on the similarities. Like both sides strongly support unmarried sex. I guess I don't see things as either/or -- I see the statements as the ends of logical continua, where you take both in to account, and their values tend to be inversely proportional. Very few people are really hard over one way or the other -- no matter how much radio talk show hosts would like it to be otherwise Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it.
