DaVinci 0 #26 November 6, 2013 kelpdiver******I'm in favor of this bill. Then, I'm going to start every job interview with "Nice to meet you, I'm gay." Then if I don't get hired, or get fired in the future, I'm gonna sue that mofo MWAHAHAHAHA That DOES seem to prove Boehner's point, doesn't it? Not really. Because in that real world that airdrv refers to, improper termination suits tend to hurt your future employment, take years to litigate, and are hard to prove, so few people go that route willingly. Which I have no doubt, Johnny knows. No... And I am not proud of this, but my sister has filed and 'won' two improper termination suits. In both cases the employer settled out of court. It was not worth it to the employer to actually fight them.
Bolas 5 #27 November 6, 2013 airdvrYou guys need to spend some time in the real world and see how these types of laws end up backfiring on those they are designed to protect. One can only hope for the day when we're all a protected class. Then it's back to a level playing field. Straight white people are already or nearly a minority in the US now, so they should have a "Straight white rights" bill soon. Or we could just stop all this "protected class" bullshit and pass something that just says no discrimination, no quotas in government hiring and operations and let the private sector do as they will with the caveat of any company that does business with the government must also have a 0 discrimination policy in place.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. Bolas 5 #28 November 6, 2013 And the timing of this has absolutely 0 to do with the recent government shutdown... Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Well, the legislation would make everyone a protected class. If you can't hire or fire based on sexual orientation that means you're protected if you're gay and protected if you're straight.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
