Just as the reasonable people predicted . . .

The news is getting so bad that even the left "Cover Obama's Ass" can't ignore it any longer.

Yes, Obama ABSOLUTELY knew that we would lose our coverage.

But he still kept telling us we wouldn't.

The White House does not dispute that many in the individual market will lose their current coverage, but argues they will be offered better coverage in its place, and that many will get tax subsidies that would offset any increased costs.

So the Gov't decides what is best for you now.
You can't make your own decisions anymore.

Maybe they will mandate which car you drive now too. Dodge Neon? No - you can't drive that anymore, Infinity - Nope - you HAVE to drive a Prius now.

ETA - This is affordable, right?

George Schwab, 62, of North Carolina, said he was "perfectly happy" with his plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield, which also insured his wife for a $228 monthly premium. But this past September, he was surprised to receive a letter saying his policy was no longer available. The "comparable" plan the insurance company offered him carried a $1,208 monthly premium and a $5,500 deductible.
And the best option he’s found on the exchange so far offered a 415 percent jump in premium, to $948 a month.

Being fair, "if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan" sells much better than, "if you like your health plan, tough shit".

Come on. Anyone who thought a government that can't balance a budget could make an overarching healthcare system and do it well...
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Think we will hear from any of them?Liars? Even CBS is telling the truth these days.http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57609737/obamacare-more-than-2-million-people-getting-booted-from-existing-health-insurance-plans/ "There have been estimates about hundreds of thousands of people losing coverage, CBS News' Jan Crawford reported on "CBS This Morning." CBS News has reached out to insurance companies across the country to determine some of the real numbers -- and this is just the tip of the iceberg, Crawford said. The people who are opening the letters are shocked to learn they can't keep their insurance policies despite President Obama's assurances to the contrary."

"CBS News has confirmed with insurance companies across the country that more than two million people are getting notices they no longer can keep their existing plans. In California, there are 279,000; in Michigan, 140,000; Florida, 300,000; and in New Jersey, 800,000. And those numbers are certain to go even higher. Some companies who tell CBS News they've sent letters won't say how many."

"Industry experts like Larry Levitt, of the Kaiser Family Foundation, say the insurance companies have no choice. "What we're seeing now is reality coming into play," he said."

"The White House is on the defensive trying to explain it, after Mr. Obama repeatedly said, "If you like your doctor or health care plan, you can keep it."

And, adjunct college professors are having their hours reduced. My, my aren't they part of the pro Hussein Obama crowd?

Par for the course for the Left. You're too dumb to know how to run your life. Course, that's just lame belief that thinly veils the power and money grab that's behind every move.
You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

Hi turtle,

As I read what I can regarding the ACA; and the comments about it, I think that in the future ( not sure just when ) that all employers will no longer provide any form of health care.

You might get a pay raise to cover it, you might get a monthly payment to cover it, or some other method.

A good number of years ago I read a very long article about health care costs in this country. The then head of General Motors ( I think it was him/some memory problems ) and he said that he spent 65% - 75% of his time dealing with health care programs for his employees.

Personally, I think almost all employers would just prefer to get rid of having to deal with it.

Time will tell,

Ignore what?

This is just the same stuff repackaged and regurgitated.

Yes there is an insurance mandate, get over it.

If you have coverage established before 2010 and you haven't fucked with it, then you are grandfathered in from the ACA.
(like me, celebrate)

If you don't, and you don't have coverage that meets the mandate, you have to get it, or pay a fine for not carrying the mandate. Additionally, if you are dispensable enough to your employer that they are willing to slash your hours, and send you buying your own insurance....you should have worked harder and been more valuable.

Stop crying about it.

I have been seeing things written about how there are people who are wanting the ACA to fail. About how those who criticize it just want it to have as many problems as possible. And we are warned about the cynics. They "may be the loudest voices—but they accomplish the least."

Of course, I can't really say that I WANT the ACA to fail. I don't. But what I have seen all along is the danger of it.

Want it to fail? Did those Thiokol engineers want the Challenger to be lost due to O-ring blowby when they recommended that launch be delayed? A NASA manager stated that he was "appalled" by the recommendation. Another manager famously quipped, "When do you want me to launch? Next April?"

The ACA is having problems. Big ones. Of course, it does not lower the "cost" of healthcare. I recall stating that it does not make health care any less expensive - it just shifts the greater cost of healthcare to the young, healthy and high earners. And that's exactly what's happening.

When it was argued that the choice of plans would be limited, it turned out to be true. No, everybody will not keep their plan. Or their doctor. Etc.

The ACA is broken and has been broken from the start. The rush to get it passed ensured that deliberation was not exercised. Some say that it's broken but, gee, how awesome that they are trying to do something! To which I say, "history is littered with well-intended risks that caused devastation."

Welcome to politics.

And, as i have been saying for 10 years on this sight, government madates drive prices up

ACA just proves the point

Besides, it is none of the govs business

But then, it still will not be because, the ACA is NOT about health care, it is about control

You are falling victim to one of the classic blunders. This one is to confuse "price" with "cost." The "price" of insurance will go down for many. But the "cost" will remain the same due to subsidies.

Thus increasing the utilization of health care. Which increases the cost of health care.

Well, I dont see I am falling for anything

First I have said ACA is not about health care
Therefore cost, price or value is irrelevant

The ACA is about control and power in government progressives hands

They now are telling us what minimun health insurance we must have

What is next, boxers or tighty whitey's?
