billvon 3,132 #1 October 7, 2013 Kudos to Devin Nunes for going against the party line to try to get the government re-started. If enough of the GOP starts being willing to compromise, we might see an agreement pretty soon. ============================= Devin Nunes accuses Ted Cruz of lying about shutdown Oct. 7, 2013 10:19 AM WASHINGTON — Rep. Devin Nunes, a conservative Republican from California’s Central Valley, on Monday accused freshman GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of lying to House Republicans that they could dismantle the Democratic health care reform law known as Obamacare by forcing a government shutdown. Nunes, R-Tulare, said the strategy pursued by Cruz, a Texas freshman, and to a lesser extent Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is “based on a false premise” because Republicans can’t get two-thirds votes in the House and the Senate to override President Barack Obama’s veto when he rejects any bill that ends his signature law. . . . “It’s really difficult at this time until the Cruz people decide and admit to our base that their whole premise of getting rid of Obamacare by shutting down our government was a lie,” Nunes said. “This is his strategy that he’s laid out, spent money on and he’s got a lot of members of the Congress to go along with.” ==================================
mpohl 1 #2 October 7, 2013 No doubt, there are Republicans who actually support the country. Who I am glad to have involved as elected members of Congress in our democracy; even though they will never represent me. But diversity is good. But the voices of these Republicans have been drowned out by money, special interests, and the Tea Party. In my opinion, either the GOP will rid itself of the 50 extremists, forcefully excluding them from the party. Or you can kiss the GOP and the US as a country good-bye. P.S.: This feels more and more like the Separated States of America, rather than the United States. billvonKudos to Devin Nunes for going against the party line to try to get the government re-started. I bet you never even thought of that, did you?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

Too much FOX News, perhaps? Nope, don't watch fox as much as CNN anymore. The Senate sent a bill back to the House changed. rhaig 0 #8 October 8, 2013 are you going to start a new thread each time this happens? Aren't there rules about multiple threads for the same topic? Oh I forgot... mods don't care about the rules.-- Rob

None of these are about the same story, although they are all about the same general theme. (You don't really want me to start deleting new threads that complain about Obama, do you?)
