For everyone's situational awareness.
The following organizations have been awarded contracts as "navigators" to "help" all of us sign up for Obamacare.

1. Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
2. ACORN
3. Planned Parenthood

This information can be verified through a Google search.

One of those groups in CA got a reported $600,000 to go door to door to sell the advantages of ACA

I am sure those dollars got used correctly:S

>Obama Negotiates with Russia
>Obama Negotiates with Syria
>Obama Negotiates with Taliban
>Obama Negotiates with al qaeda

>Obama for some reason will not negotiate with House Republicans though . . . why is
>that?

Because Russia is easier to negotiate with, and even terrorists occasionally listen to reason.

Even the GOP itself thinks that negotiating with them is worse than negotiating with terrorists - they're like a combination of lemmings _and_ terrorists.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) said that the GOP is like "lemmings with suicide vests. They have to be more than just a lemming. Because jumping to your death is not enough. You have this group saying somehow if you’re not with them, you’re with Obamcare. If you’re not with their plan -- exactly what they want to do, you’re with Obamcare. It’s getting a little old."

A little biased op ed piece, no?

>A little biased op ed piece, no?

You're right. Let's see what the right-leaning Washington Post has to say:

====================
The Post’s View
House Republicans are failing Americans in their effort to kill Obamacare

By Editorial Board, Published: October 1

AMERICANS’ RESPECT for their Congress has, sad to say, diminished in recent years. But citizens still expect a minimal level of competence and responsibility: Pay the bills and try not to embarrass us in front of the world.

By those minimal standards, this Congress is failing. More specifically, the Republican leaders of the House of Representatives are failing. They should fulfill their basic duties to the American people or make way for legislators who will.

We don’t come to that view as rabid partisans. On many of the issues stalemating Washington, we find plenty of blame to go around. We’ve criticized President Obama’s reluctance to pursue entitlement reform. The last time the country reached the debt ceiling, we urged both sides to compromise on revenue and spending in the interest of long-term fiscal soundness.

This time, fiscal responsibility isn’t even a topic. Instead, Republicans have shut much of the government in what they had to know was a doomed effort to derail the Affordable Care Act. That law, in case you've forgotten in the torrent of propaganda, is hardly revolutionary. It is an effort to extend health insurance to some of the 40 million or so people in this country who have none. It acts through the existing private-insurance market. Republicans tried to block its passage and failed; they hoped to have it declared unconstitutional and failed; and they did their best to toss Mr. Obama out of the White House after one term in order to strangle it in its cradle, and they failed again.

It is so much more complicated than what you suggest.

I think that the delay in implementation of a bad law is good.

Yes, you approve of the end result, but do you really approve of the method? Are you thinking about the longer term implications? Obamacare didn't pass 51-50, with the VP casting the deciding vote. This one passed 60-39.

What we have here is a minority of Congress (Senate) trying to relegislate existing law. The proper method to fix bad law is to pass revisions. But since they can't get the votes to do that, they're scorching the earth.

Since it is rare for one party to maintain a 60 senator majority, what you have now is the potential for nothing to ever get done, or even if passed, to stay done. Seems like a violation of the Constitution and basic principles of democracy.

>huh? Are you confusing the Post with the Times?

No, just comparing op-eds from right leaning and left leaning papers.

The Washington Post is not a right leaning paper, any more than the NYT is. (We'll see if it changes any with Bezos). Now the WSJ would be an example of a right leaner.

Absolutely seems like an exercise in futility, doesn't it?

Even though the Affordable Care Act is expected to extend health insurance coverage to about 30 million U.S. residents over the next several years, roughly the same number of people still will lack health coverage by 2016 and the majority of them will be U.S. citizens, employed and white, according to a study published in Health Affairs, the Washington Post's "Wonkblog" reports.
http://www.californiahealthline.org/articles/2013/6/10/30m-americans-will-still-be-uninsured-in-2016-under-aca-study-says

Q. So why shaft the rest of the US?

A. Power and control.

THAT is what was voted in, not "Affordable" health care.

Ouch [:/]

Wendy P.

One needs to remember that they view government much different than we do here

They depend on government to tell them what is right and wrong and what to do and when to do it

They would not know what to do without that omnipresent power over their lives

Of course this is an exageration to a point. But it helped to illistrate the differences

Plus, where do you think they get the majority of their news from?
Fox?

Or the lapdog main stream media that gives Obama a pass daily?

it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

I also wonder about the constitutionality of the tactic of refusing to fund the government instead of the proper method of proposing and passing legislation to repeal a law (which the Republicans tried and failed at over 40 times). I wonder what the Supreme Court would say, if it comes to that.

Yep, they totally circumvented the insurance sales industry where licensed agents, who have the knowledge and experience, are left out. Instead, they've elected to have the inexperienced counsel the novice health insurance buyer a recipe for disaster.

Kinda like has been happening for Medicare add-on policies for years.

Interesting.

You use the worst handled governmental instituted healthcare debacle as an example to support . . . what?

Are you just stating that they are similar?

Is this your prediction of Obamacare?

Medicare add-on? How so?

I'd've put the prescription benefit as the biggest debacle to date.

So is Medicare worse than Medicaid?

Wendy P.

Yes, in that it is more easily scammed.
Does that fall on the users or the institution?

I say they knew human nature and it falls more on the shoulders of the Institution, with a good sized portion on the scammers.
