It hurts for me to say this considering how many cops should be in jail and get away with it, but the dude fell nothing the cop could do.

The dudes fault unless he was just being chased for cops amusement to begin with.

Last week in Cali, the court held that an officer was immune from suit when he pulled someone over and opened the car door into a motorcyclist. Because it's considered "pursuit."

and that's what is wrong with the country, at least part of it. in a case like the video above, i would agree with you. but in a case where you pull a car over on a road, you should look in your rearview mirror (it's mounted in a very convenient location) at least for personal safety. of course, it may set a bad precedent. and if society would actually limit frivolous lawsuits and entitlement complexes, it would help.
