I'm curious to hear what suggestions some would make on this issue before Obama makes a decision on what he will do.

It must be tricky to take a position knowing that you may end up agreeing with the President.

Yes I do Jerry. However, as you probably don't know, the system we have now is new and several people have reported problems with it. Perhaps a quick visit to the Error and Bug reports forum would be more productive than taking a shot at someone? Ya think?

Maliki is a master juggler and had so many deals going on with so many groups of people it's a wonder he could keep it all straight. Unfortunately, in his efforts to stem sectarian violence in 2007/8 he decided not to sign the SOFA but I don't think he or his ministers did enough analysis on a post-US withdrawal Iraq. He should have realized it late 2010 and most of 2011 that there were significant indicators of rising tensions and potential for increased violence as US forces pulled back to Kuwait and re negotiated then. Oh well...
