The stories I read say that the bullet ricochet'd into the victim, not that he pointed it directly at him. Also that it was a 380, which is probably why it worked out relatively well.

I have not seen an actual description of the injuries suffered, and am a bit suspicious of this omission.

It really need not be said that the instructor should have unloaded his weapon in advance of demonstrations within a classroom setting.
