Nicely done.. two logical fallacies in two sentences!
I support freedom of expression. I support the right to question and criticize authority.

The IL State Supreme Court upheld a 1995 law, that requires girls under the age of 18 to either get parental consent or court aproval to have an abortion

States are moving in the right direction every day

From the court

Quote

“The well-being of young women is more important than the bottom line of abortionists. All this law has sought to do since 1995 is to uphold the duty and desire of parents to protect their own children rather than allow them to be taken advantage of by others,” he said.

“As the Illinois Supreme Court unanimously found, the law constitutionally encourages ‘an unmarried, pregnant minor to seek the help and advice of a parent or other adult family member in making the very important decision whether or not to bear a child.’ The ACLU kept this law from protecting women for more than 17 years, but that is now over.”

I thought that one of the key values of Conservatives was individual freedom and personal rights.

Minimal government intrusion into the private lives of citizens is another key value that apparently doesn't apply to ALL citizens, just those that are male, and of northern European ancestry.

Can you please explain why these values do NOT extend to women and their personal medical decisions?

The hypocrisy is blindingly obvious to those with half a clue.

Don't try to conflate personal medical decisions with extreme "concern for the children". The immense concern that is shown ends at the delivery of the child. After that is over, there is ZERO concern for the health and well being of the child. Reducing the SNAP program, and trying to cancel health care for poor children has been part of what the conservatives push for in Congress. They hate poor people immensely, but do nothing to help them get out of that economic condition..

The 100,000 or so children killed in Iraq are of ZERO concern to US conservatives.

For the women who try to reduce personal freedom and choice that has made them equal citizens, instead of chattel controlled by men, you are traitors to your gender.

Nothing positive for society has ever come about due to the practical application of conservative philosophy. NOTHING!

Please
find the other half of your clue

He needs to find the first half before he can find the second.

Kinda like - you have to pass it before you know what is in it.:D:D:D:D

And the post started from a totally flawed premise to begin with and then isults a whole group of people

So please........

This country was founded and became great on conservative values. Not without some flaws but none the less

Freedom of expression and the freedom to criticize authority being a couple of the ideals the country was founded on!

Absoutly
but this does not allow someone to have their own truths

When did you decide that responsible parenting is just a 'conservative' value?

Seems to me, that parents being responsible for their minor children is something everyone should be able to decide on without being labeled liberal or conservative.

you need to step away from your hate

my other question, no one in particular, is how does a LAW 'encourage' a minor to get advice. Seems a law should be more direct or it's an impotent law in the first place.

Absoutly
but this does not allow someone to have their own truths
there is no such thing as someone's own truth. the truth does not belong to anyone... it simply is. Opinions, on the other hand... there is no reason why a person cannot have an opinion and express it. And if you feel like your government is doing something that is against your values, then you should have the right to criticize the government for it. For example, if you are against (hot topic) government controlled health care, and your government begins to implement it, you should have the right to speak out against your government. I do not see why she cannot speak out against her government... you may not agree with her, but at least let her speak. Otherwise we come across a scenario where there is a double standard. And in a society with double standards for its citizens, there is no real freedom. Freedom for some but not for others is not freedom at all. It is just classist and elitist.

it "encourages" a minor to talk to their parents and get their permission before getting an abortion in the same way that 36 CFR 2.17 "encourages" someone to talk to a park ranger and get a permit before jumping half dome.

So Sarah Slamen reveals the lies that the Texas "experts" use to back their plan to infringe on womens' rights, and is ejected as a result.

I guess "truth" and "Texas" don't belong in the same sentence any more.

Just for the record, I'm pro-choice, and I live in Texas. I support a reasonable limit on abortion (about 20 weeks), and I think that non-prescription availability of "Plan B" is wonderful.

I'd be even more in favor of free birth control, but that's also unlikely to happen -- even less likely than irresponsible people stopping unprotected sex.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

You think that this woman's "right" is unlimited?

Or do you agree (as you have spewed before) that no right is absolute?

I am pro-choice to a point
However, know that my choice overall would be no abortions without medical reasons
That said, it is here to stay, so, as I have stated before, I just do not think tax dollars should be used to support or supliment abortions

grass clippings and rocks is viable birth control?

(everything has to be paid for)

I have no issue with choice and birth control, if one wants it, one should pay for it.
