Well, we agree on that.

Do you agree that most of the people that seek profession in the education system in the united states are liberals?

Only the smartest ones.

So are you willing to accept the possibility that he is?

I refer you to post #1 of this thread, and your description of him.

So that is a yes.

Your grasp of basic logic is amazingly weak.

The staff violated his rights by forcing him to create a speech that he did not want to give

Was he forced to create and give a speech he didn't want to give?

I was second in my class, and very vividly remember being told that we were not allowed to deviate from our speeches. They would cut the mic in a second. That didn't mean we couldn't give the speeches we wanted to give. Hell, our valedictorian was the daughter of the lay assistant at the town Methodist church (very devout family), and she thanked god and talked about god multiple times in her speech. I've heard very similar speeches at other functions.

Where is it reported that this school told this kid that he couldn't have a speech like he wanted, which I'm assuming had references to God or thanked God in it?
Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

Clearly you have NO evidence whatsoever that the principal is a liberal, and you have NO evidence whatsoever that his actions violated policy, so you continue to throw dust in the air.

Your OP is just a big pile of BS.

He keeps saying the town is not liberal so as to try and negate the fact that a liberal ass hat pulled this crap

You know he was a liberal?

You know he 'pulled this crap'?

No, they're extrapolating. He could be a member in good standing of the local Southern Baptist church, he could be a Catholic, he could be a Libertarian who worked on every Ron Paul campaign.

There is no information about that.

But as long as they can equate "liberal" with "whatever I don't like" they're OK with it.

Folks, I'm also liberal. Have at it.

There is an epidemic of American school administrators behaving like stupid, heavy-handed - and yes, often spiteful - assholes toward their students at graduation and prom time. Every one of us sees such stories in the news over and over again.

Here's some quick Google-fu on that:

http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&q=schools+punish+students+graduation+proms&oq=schools+punish+students+graduation+proms&gs_l=hp.3...167905.169475.1.169652.6.6.0.0.0.0.304.1212.0j4j1j1.6.0...0.0...1c.1.17.psy-ab.Dq7XyuaLvW0&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47883778,d.dmg&fp=f759d189ca9e00c4&biw=1024&bih=605

Look over the various articles. I invite anyone to tell us if any partisan pattern can be discerned from it, and if so, what that might be.

"A Texas high school principal threatened to sabotage a valedictorian’s appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy after the student delivered a speech that referenced God and the U.S. Constitution, the boy’s attorney alleges."

"Hiram Sasser, director of litigation with the Liberty Institute, said Joshua High School principal Mick Cochran threatened to write a letter to the U.S. Naval Academy disparaging the character of Remington Reimer."

"The following day the principal met with Reimer’s father and informed him “that he intended to punish Remington for his perceived misdeed.”

Sounds like something a liberal would do.

Or, sticking with Rhemwa's 'lets go nuts on stereotypes' idea - sounds like something a conservative would make up.

why bother? - I compose a fun and stereotype filled rant about both liberals and conservatives, and even how the 'usuals' here wallow in them and what get's leveraged from that amazing work of prose?

The resident PhD grabs onto the most childish item of the list, which was just tacked on for the heck of it, and IT is what is nested into the tasty 12 layered quote tree. Perhaps his memory is restricted to just the last 4 (I'll give credit for the period) words read in a post while the rest are instantly forgotten in a fog of soy based digestive action and imported wine spritzers. I don't know....

It's like taking a reading of War and Peace, and then only commenting that the nachos served on the table are a bit stale.

Of course, what would expect from a typical liberal.:P

Stale nachos are VERY a serious business. I really think the government should do something about it.

What I find amusing is that the whole discussion about who is or isn't a Liberal has stopped people from thinking about the other pejorative in the thread title - spitefulness.

First, no-one knows what the principal said. He may have genuinely threatened to send that letter, he may have been trying to give the kid a life-lesson about the situation he could have landed himself in, he may have given him a standard dressing down and said nothing of the sort. We only have one side of the story.

What we do know for sure is that the principal has not yet sent any letter or attempted to harm the kid's career, but the kid and his family have hired a lawyer to loudly and publicly spread accusations that could be detrimental to the principal's career. So, politics be damned, why the rush to judge who's in the wrong?

(And if the nachos had been sitting out for the whole of War And Peace then they'd probably be pretty damn stale!)

everyone is trying to win on which camp they want to put the principal into.

then they can jump on that and say - "SEE? everyone in that political party is not, by definition, SPITEFUL"

you gotta save the 'spiteful' comment for the end game

Exactly. Everyone's fighting over why he's nasty when for all we know he might be nice.

Poor guy, turned into a political football when he's probably just knuckling down and doing the best he can to keep the girls off the pole and the boys off the pipe.
