you hardly need to cherry pick to find Islam hates females, much more so than do the Mormons or anything but the most whacko of Christian sects. It's a significant reason for why those nations stay in the Third World - dismissing a great amount of their potential.

Or, outline the benefits of Obamacare to small business and the general economy. Right now it would appear that the only ones to benefit will be attorneys and illegal immigrants.

But seriously, the old system of having and keeping health insurance being dependent on current full-time employment and good health is an arcane dinosaur. Lost your job, or had your hours cut back? Goodbye health insurance. Had a heart attack or cancer within the past 7 years and now need to purchase your own coverage? Forget it! - you're deemed "uninsurable", and basically cannot purchase private health insurance even if you want to, because no insurance carrier will sell it to you. The US is the only Western nation where this nonsense still goes on.

Fix it, Ron. If you don't like the down-sides of Obamacare, an unwieldy amalgam whose flaws are largely the result of The Politics Of "No", then propose something that actually works, and doesn't simply maintain the old, obsolete status quo. The mentality of Do Nothing just doesn't cut it.

Most of my adult life I did not have any type of insurance, other than the minimal mandatory automobile liability coverage. When I thought I would be in a position to really need health insurance I took steps to procure it. My basic belief is that it is a personal responsibility not a governmental responsibility. Emergencies can be dealt with in the ER.

Nancy Pelousy said we would have to pass it to read it. And, now it seems that everyone reading it is declaring it a nightmare.

OK, the upside is that it will force an intense examination of the healthcare system. After a period of time, hopefully, something reasonable and equable will be the outcome.

In the meantime emotions are rising and the economy is not looking very stable. For you, I agree, it is a win - win.

The last election proved, to me anyway, that our low information voter is only interested in being taken care of. They seem to be quite happy with the idea that the federal government is their big daddy.

That concept makes me sad, sick and angry. I associate with people that feel the same way. So, we are sticking together and preparing for the worst. We call it, SHTF.

A few of us come here to express our concern and anger and we are countered with admonition, antagonism and condescension. It the midst of all that we identify allies. You characterized it as dogs smelling each other's asses.

So, some of us have a dog in the hunt.

If that was the real issue, it could be solved by the government offering a subsidized insurance policy or providing coverage in much the same way they provide hurricaine insurance to wealthy people who want to build their dream home on the beach.

It did not require a complete take over of healthcare insurance by the government.
You and your ilk have now made a criminal of the poor person who cannot afford insurance and cannot afford to pay the fines for not having it.

Oh, and let's not forget that it is the IRS that will be enforcing this. Perfect...you left wingers have really mucked it all up this time.

Actually its family, and they are dispersed across the world but I have many of my family living in Pakistan. I've been there several times and its tragic to see what could have been a vibrant nation slide to the point of virtual freefall that its currently in. It always had problems but there was also the belief that they could be overcome. These days I'm not so sure about that. The vast majority of Pakistani's do not want to be in a Islamist nation and many see Turkey as a role model of what they could be but unfortunately due to their geographical location I doubt that will ever happen. Sadly the country has fallen to the grip of tribalism and the cancer that is Wabhi Salafist doctrine as metastasised from Saudi Arabia. Sadly much of what the west now believes to be Islam is nothing more than Saudi customs.
