Well, lets see why this isn't like Fort Hood.
(1) This was a spree killer, not a mass murderer.
(2) The targets appear to have been completely random, rather than chosen specifically for who they were or what they did.
(3) There doesn't appear to be any ideological motivation for the murders.
(4) The killer had not, as far as we know right now, been in contact with terrorist networks or recruiters.
(5) There does not appear to be any "revenge" or other attempt to alter American policy.

So congratulations on comparing a murderer who was in the military to an ideologically driven, terrorist-connected murderer who intentionally targeted soldiers while screaming Allahu Akbar (after making comments about how Muslims in Iraq should rise up and throw out their oppressors: the US).
