Does this surprise anyone?

(I suspect that ends this thread discussion)

All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

ooooooh - that would be a great theme for a book. possibly written at like a 5th grade level or so. Maybe as a social/political commentary.....

Just more of the same nonsense by the royals in DC. Try these on for size...

The median wealth of a House member is $765,010... For a senator it’s $2.38 million. Yet, incredibly, they still enjoy all of this:

$174,000 salary
Free company car
Free gas
Free parking (even at airports)
Free flights almost anywhere in the world
Per diem travel allowance... up to $3,000 a trip
A month’s paid vacation
3-day work-weeks
Free membership to a top-flight gym
Pension plan and 401K plan
Full retirement benefits (including up to 44% of their six figure salaries) at age 62
Free top of the line health insurance with 10 plans to choose from
Fully covered – even with pre-existing conditions

Who wouldn't want that sweetheart deal. And we, the stockholders are stupid enough to continue to let them have it. [:/]

Please don't dent the planet.

To add to (not subtract from) your last post, most of the wealth a member of Congress accumulates as a direct result of his time in office is not his salary; it's in the form of insider trading in investments (which the SEC would prosecute if it was anyone else) which, in turn are taxed at the low capital gains rate. (Oh, by the way, who do you think wrote and passed the tax code assigning the low tax rate on capital gains?)
