lawrocket 3 #2 April 23, 2013 What's the big deal? Many on here say the same thing. Said one poster, "I'm in favor of the entire Constitution. It's an absolutist interpretation I have a problem with when it comes to things people over 200 years ago never could have possibly imagined are being talked about I have an issue with." Bloomberg, bless him, is honest enough to point out he has no desire to go through the trouble of amending the Constitution. Bloomberg thinks stare decisis sucks ass. He thinks that the Constitution ad written sucks ass - probably because he's mayor and there's just so much he cannot do because the Constitution is pesky. I do thank Mayor Bloomberg for laying down the gauntlet and rather than arguing this "living breathing Constitution" stuff and straight out saying we need to stop seeing the Constitution as protecting individual rights and start switching it to "what the 4th amendment should say is that government searches are per se reasonable." New Yorkers probably know that as much if not more than anybody else after the terrible tragedy of 9/11,” he said but yet the citizens cant be trusted to take up arms and defend themselves? Fucking brilliant.

Fucking brilliant. Maybe if those citizens with arms weren't killing over 9,000 of their fellow citizens each year with those arms you would have a point. The gun murder rate in the USA suggests that maybe those citizens can't be trusted as much as you seem to think.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Those people can't help it, and now at least they can get health insurance at an affordable price because the healthy will be paying more for them. That's just wrong. I saw the commercials. The poor blind lady without legs who couldn't get insurance because they wouldn't cover her pre-existing conditions caused by evil corporations. My wife is hotter than your wife. The gun murder rate in the USA suggests that maybe those citizens can't be trusted as much as you seem to think. I wonder what fraction of the gun murders in the US are committed by people legally allowed to own said guns. Personally, I'd like to see all inmates serving time for marijuana released, and a dramatic increase in the conviction and sentencing of felons found in possession of guns. If Jimmy Joe Gangbanger knows he's facing 5 years if caught carrying a gun, he might be a bit more hesitant. I'm currently job-hunting and found a position in Baltimore that looked promising. After a couple minutes of looking around, I found that the city has one of the highest violent crime rates in the country, yet the state will not issue concealed carry permits. So much for that job. That got me to wondering though, so I looked a little deeper. In the US, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia are all CCW-free...they don't issue them. Within them, Baltimore, Chicaco, Newark, and Washington all rank in the top 20 for per capita violent crime. "Shall Issue" (excluding mitigating circumstances) and "May issue" (only issue if specific circumstances are met) states are reasonably distributed across the spectrum of violent crime rates in large cities, but "Shall not issue" are all in the top 20. Oh well, those cities weren't high on my list anyhow. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
