ARM CPUs, lasers, and Wi-Fi make firing this weapon an experience like no other.

My oh my. How very... interesting. Yep, now they'll say we need an Assault OS Ban. Feinstein can sing the "it's for the children" chorus while Rangle tells us how Linux is killing millions of kids each year. :S

For anyone about to go nuts about Linux being used/abused for this, remember Linux is used for all kinds of things you don't like, from urban traffic control to predator/reaper drones.

Interesting piece of technology. Probably should be regulated for the purposes of export. While the article goes to great lengths to explain why it's not ideal for combat, the ability to make a shot at that range with minimal training is, I think, something we'd worry about being used against us. It may not be a "paramilitary" weapon, but it sure does look like a nice weapon for an assassin.

I don't think I'd ever want anything this high-tech for hunting purposes. It would be like firing a laser guided smart bomb. Where's the sport in that?

There would be all kinds of uses for this in the world of military sniping.

I wonder how dependable it is? Sometimes simple is better, in adverse conditions.

Just my two cents worth!
