Oh, I don't think Obama's relative competence has any impact on the fact that Bush is an absolute idiot. Is Obama a complete disaster? Most assuredly. Was Bush's administration FUBAR? Unquestionably. Which of the two is worse? It's kind of like trying to decide whether cat shit or dog shit is more repellent. At the end of the day, it really does not make a whole lot of difference. If each side is trying to get the most incompetent cretin into office, I'd say it is a tie. BSBD, Winsor

If the guy who took power after a guy who started a war for no good reason is not to your liking, does that mean the people who started the war for no good reason are blameless? Whether you like Obama or not isn't the issue. Whether or not Bush 43 was evil or not isn't even the issue. The issue is the members of the PNAC found themselves in positions of power and abused it. It was their intention LONG before coming to power and that's not speculation, it's documented fact in letters to President Clinton. There has been, in my opinion, a criminal and completely immoral misuse of power which has cost thousands of American lives and tens of thousands of foreign lives. How these guys are still able to walk free is beyond me. What this country needs to restore its reputation in the world is something akin to the South African Truth Commission.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Gravitymaster 0 #7 March 23, 2013 I won't even argue something that was debated right on this forum for years. I will point out to you the timing and the heavily slanted commentary. Unless you think Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow represent a good example of someone with middle of the road views.

The issue is, at least it seems to me, no matter what the side when people find themselves in a position of power they abuse it. I don't think electing another democrat (Hi. Hillary) or republican is going do any good towards restoring our reputation in the world. How's the working in the world so far with the anti-bush president we have now?
