Jack Ryan, writer Tom Clancy's well-known character in novels and films, for example, took officer training there. Reporters must live in an imaginary world Please don't dent the planet. Andy9o8 2 #7 March 22, 2013 Point taken: rules changed. That being said: the Washington Times? Seriously? a/k/a "All the Fox News that's fit to print"? Yes, Bill Clinton personally put those 13 people in the Ft. Hood morgue. Ann Coulter would be envious of that editorial's slant. ETA: Hey, Marc! You reading? There's your "liberal media" for you. lawrocket 3 #8 March 22, 2013 No, Bill Clinton did not personally put those people in the morgue. However, leadership policies CERTAINLY have an effect. I find it interesting that a 2009 editorial about how “gun free zones” are making more victims is just as relevant today as it was then, if not more so. There are unintended consequences, and I do not believe that the intent of gun free zones is to increase mass murders. I do know that it hasn’t stopped them, and thus it may be time for something else to be tried. My wife is hotter than your wife.
BillyVance 35 #9 March 22, 2013 Exactly. Quanah 0 #10 March 22, 2013 QuoteGun free zone? My dad was a marksmanship instructor at Quantico. And he had to keep his military guns in the armory when he wasn't using them. Just because it's a Marine base, doesn't mean that there are armed Marines everywhere. This is a gun control zone where no service guns are available except to those who actualliy need to use them for some function, and they need to be checked out daily, and returned when done. The barracks are not full of loaded M-16's.

regulator 0 #12 March 22, 2013 Correct. you have to get a member of the armory to open the cage to have access to the military firearms.
wayneflorida 0 #13 March 23, 2013 Don't think the "gun free zone" thing matters in this situation. Guy got the drop on man & woman. Could have happened off base anywhere. Two county deputies were killed here, while trying to serve a protection order, at a local gun range. The guy just got the drop on them.
