The legendary Coney Island roller coaster was covered with some ocean muck, but the city-owned ride survived Hurricane Sandy’s wrath unscathed, according to operator Central Amusements. “There wasn’t any significant damage, just a lot of clean-up,” said Chloe Gallo, spokeswoman for Central Amusements, which also runs Coney Island’s Luna Park.' Or...... In the backwoods bayou that you hail from there was 60 billion dollars in damage to the coaster caused by a gay transgender storm named Sandy that probably wanted to marry gay. On point two, and in addressing your posts in other threads, why not simply posts some detailed informative content instead of AVOIDING central themes by your name calling? Perhaps if you have first hand knowledge about lgbt you might shed some light on any discussion that would aid those of us who know little about it, our understanding. Cheers. Because it is an iconic roller coaster that was closed for a long time due to Sandy. That's not his point. His point is that it was announced on NBC. You see, NBC is MSNBC which is Communist which is Obama which means that the Cyclone must have gotten federal money to open while real Americans are left to rot, bitterly clinging to their guns and bibles, because the Cyclone is located on Coney Island which sounds like Fire Island where all the gays and transsexuals go. Happy riding the Cyclone! While some people may enjoy feeding bigoted trolls I find more enjoyment in pointing out the bigotry. This one was just too easy to skip since it was blatantly false. I think Andy pointed out your propensity to just post totally false stuff and put it forward as fact in another one of your well researched threads. Hey BV, is this one of the people you refered me to who has answers to the LBGT community. If so, the person, demonstrates exactly what I said: Not too many answers and a lot of BS. More name calling and little facts. The Federal Gov't supplied the NE 60 billion dollars. The Red Cross supply a lot of money too. And this one example, is the first that I've heard, that has been reported on national news of something that has been restored. Brian (NBC) even commented it was open if anyone was there to ride it or not.... There was a report too that parts to the Seaside Heights Boardwalk was also restored. 60 billion dollars, boardwalk, amusment rides. Nice to have the funding to restore a business due to a storm. How about some money for businesses lost due to wall street shenangians for the financial crisis they created with their bank ponzi.

And you don't have a clue about what portion of the billion NY got went to Coney Island. Which is what this thread is about. Now run along back to the other thread. NY got 1.77b or so. And not that it matters, but I am heterosexual, I just don't like to see people discriminated against because they love someone. You are perfectly welcome to love anyone you want with no objections. Now back to discussing the storm Sandy. The ride, the Cyclone was closed. And Coney Island, including the amusment park, were damaged. http://politicker.com/2012/10/sandys-aftermath-in-coney-island/ Now the purpose of the threads was to point out, that after billions have been paid, the main news story about any reconstruction or clean up was that an amusement ride was reopened. Not that a million tons of sand was moved, thousands of houses rebuilt, the lights turned back on, etc., but that the roller coaster was turned back on. Get it now? Well goofy, that "one story" "on that outlet, "on that day" was hysterical considering the 60 billion the gov't paid, and the billions Red Cross paid, that the Cyclone is now open for business. No other story achieved such mention on national TV during the disasater funding talk. You TRY to be funny on here, but when someone else is joking, to you it's not a joke. Typical liberal mentality. You couldn't turn on the TV without seeing another New York resident talking about his plight. Chris Christie, to this day, has been ostracized from his party for saying good things about Obama during the rescue efforts. Their beef was not that he refused to attack him, but that it was all over the news.

BTW....some time has pasted since the opening of the Cyclone. Has there been one story whatsoever on any news network about what's been done with the 60 billion? I've not seen one story.
