New York Times backs off of environmental coverage

OMG what is up with this?!?!?! The next thing you know the Obama administration will approve the Keystone pipeline. What the hell? Obama's top climate scientist said that it would be "gave over" for the planet if this was approved. Is Obama just a shill for big oil? Kallend, Bill V, Quade, Please help me what is going on?

"From a logistical standpoint, the shutdown of Green was probably inevitable once the environment desk was closed in January. The two editors have new duties, and a blog (as I know too well) is a lot of work. [Read "The Changing Newsroom Environment" for more.]

But inevitability doesn’t take away the sting.

Curtis Brainard, who writes about science journalism for the Columbia Journalism Review, harshly criticized Times management for the move and posted an apologetic e-mail message sent by Nancy Kenney, the former deputy environment editor, to the blog’s contributors.

The news side of The Times has nine sports blogs; nine spanning fashion, lifestyles, health, dining and the like; four business blogs; four technology blogs (five if you include automobiles as a technology); and a potpourri of other great efforts"

----------------------------------------------------------

What the heck is going on when the NYT is more interested in fashion, than the future of the planet? Come on you tree hugging, garbage separating, hybrid driving, cotton bag shopping, hygiene avoiding, hippies, what are we going to do about this?

We know this, Hutch, thanks to your separate thread about the Keystone Pipeline, not to mention the 12 separate threads, per week, you start about these same issues.

But hey, don't let The Man keep you down. Rock on, baby!

I know it is easy to get confused but this thread is about how the New York Times is nine times more interested in fashion, than the environment. The other thread was about how the Obama administration, was setting the table for a decision on the keystone pipeline. How did you get to 12? Let me guess. You took the 1 from my first thread, and combined it with the 2 from my second post and arrived at twelve. Got it.

It a tactic liberals like to use often
Very related to political correctness
