OHCHUTE 0 #1 February 28, 2013 To think that the guys over at Beretta can't buy the guns they make is, well pretty stupid dumb. I suspect Beretta will move the rest of their operations to VA. http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/government/debate-on-o-malley-s-gun-control-bill-continues/article_195aae7a-e951-5b26-abf8-01044b8a337f.html Added link about Beretta http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/27/gun-maker-beretta-considers-leaving-maryland-as-omalley-pushes-tougher-gun-laws/ And O'Malley your next POTUS contender who is attempting to eliminate the death penalty. http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2013/02/22/2016-preview-omalley-takes-shots-at-christie/
rushmc 23 #2 March 11, 2013 Nope, no one has said they want to take the guns Oh, wait! QuoteOne poignant exchange was as follows: Schakowsky: We’re on a roll now, and I think we’ve got to take the--you know, we’re gonna push as hard as we can and as far as we can. Mattera: So the assault weapons ban is just the beginning? Schakowsky: Oh absolutely. I mean, I’m against handguns. We have, in Illinois, the Council Against Handgun... something [Violence]. Yeah, I’m a member of that. So, absolutely. In another exchange, Schakowsky proposed allowances for states and municipalities to ban guns--though such laws have been repeatedly rejected by the Supreme Court: Mattera: We’ll never get a handgun ban with the Second Amendment as stated. Schakowsky: I don’t know. I don’t know that we can’t. And there may be an allowance, once again, for communities--I have communities in my district that prohibited handguns within their borders. The rights of municipalities and states to view that as a sensible way to keep people safe--I don’t think it’s precluded. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/11/Schakowsky-Assault-Weapons-Ban-is-Just-the-Beginning"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." God forbid we become like all of Western Europe, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Much better that we remain like Iran, China, Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Sudan. You give us all a refreshing clarity.

You give us all a refreshing clarity. We're more likely to end up like Jamaica which combines economic disparity with strict gun control. The firearms permit costs $3000 / year which is most of the median income so there are few legal guns. Mandatory life sentences, trials in closed court, and warrantless searches have done their job getting those with illegal guns off the street. The murder-rate in gun-free Jamaica is still 40/100,000 (down from the 60/100,000 it skyrocketed to after the 1974 handgun ban). Gun control laws have no positive effect on murders, cause other violent crime to increase, and have no place in America.
Andy9o8 2 #5 March 12, 2013 That's fascinating. Of course, I was responding to a death penalty remark.
