By Emily Elert 02.08.2013 In this segment of Fox & Friends, called "Pulling the Plug: The Dim Future of Solar Power," co-host Gretchen Carlson asked asked Fox Business reporter Shibani Joshi why Germany has been able to generate so much more solar power than the U.S. "What was Germany doing correctly?," Carlson asked. "Are they just a smaller country, have they make it more feasible--" "They're a smaller country," Joshi answered, "and they've got a lot of sun. Right? They've got a lot more sun than we do." ====================

JerryBaumchen 1,473 #6 February 9, 2013 Hi Bill, This last week the radio (NPR) said that the majority of electricity generated in Spain was currently (no pun intended) coming from wind power. It is a changing world, JerryBaumchen
Andy9o8 3 #7 February 9, 2013 QuoteHi Bill, This last week the radio (NPR) said that the majority of electricity generated in Spain was currently (no pun intended) coming from wind power. Hello, Jerry. Do you mind if I clarify that? Here's the link to the transcript of that show: http://www.wbur.org/npr/171453574/spains-wind-energy-industry-breaks-record What the NPR interviewer said, in introducing the guest, was that "26 percent of Spain's electricity for the past 100 days has come from wind", and that "[t]heir [the wind farms'] electricity output has topped that of coal, nuclear and solar energy for the first time." Now, perhaps she should have used the word "or" instead of "and" before the phrase "solar energy"; but she did clearly say it was 26%, which, by context, I think was supposed to mean "more than any other single energy source". It could have been phrased a little more artfully.
