No, I don't. I think every sane, law abiding adult in the US has a right to own guns. But that's not extreme enough for the gun supporters and so people like you attack me for it.

Which is why I suspect at least an assault weapon ban is coming. When even gun supporters are attacked by the NRA for not being extreme enough - when they are told "you're cowards" "you hate the constitution" etc there's going to be a backlash.

If the bad guys have your gun you are probably already dead,but if the bad guys or guy bash you in the head with a bat because you have no way to defend yourself against it,you are still dead or daim bramaged because you never had a decent chance without a gun.
I would rather take a chance of getting shot to death with my own gun,than get beaten to death by a bad guy or bad guys because I had nothing.

Well in that case he brought a gun to a gunfight and didn't get a chance to use it.

That's what a lot of people overlook. People fuck up. True in skydiving, true in the real world. People who own guns are most likely to be injured by their own fuckups, just as skydivers are most likely to get injured/killed by something stupid they do. Most people will make it through their lives without being injured by either, of course. And very rarely someone ELSE will be the cause of their injury - but those cases are greatly in the minority.

Is the risk worth the reward? That's different for everyone; everyone has a different set of tradeoffs. But there are no magic solutions, no magic device that will save you no matter what happens.

Well, you're brain damaged or dead whether you have a gun or not; they are not personal force fields, and if you don't see it coming in time a gun does nothing.

Now that's a better assessment of the risks. You risk the chance that the gun will injure or kill you, hoping it will help you when you need it. You prefer that tradeoff, and that's fine - provided you don't try to force it on everyone else.

Is he at my side? or is he behind me?... Were are we standing?.. How big is he? What am I wearing ? Is he High on drugs? What kind of gun is it... All these things matter in what you do.... Most of the time simply turning your head as you as you come up and grab the gun as you drive your finger in to his eye.. Will work well.... If you have a plan... It's a big help... I guess that is why training is really big in the security field...

I have never encountered a home invader,but I came home to a house I shared with two other guys about 25 years ago,and found some blood and a couple of teeth on the back patio.
The back door was busted and I immediately thought those crazy bastards had gotten into another drunken brawl while I was gone, and had torn up the house.
I was wrong. The older cousin(my roomates were cousins) had heard someone bashing in the back door,so he grabbed his 12 gauge pump and headed down the hallway towards the back door,he sees the guy in the dark,and just like people say,he said he cycled the the action and the guy scrambled back out the door and tripped and busted out some teeth on the patio and ran off into the dark.
Jim did not bother calling 911 since it was late and he had been drinking,and his prior experience with the cops was a waste of time and more of a hassle than it was worth since they never were able to catch anyone anyway.
