billvon 3,132 #1 January 30, 2013 The problem isn't home defense, it's giving cowardly women enough courage to fight off five violent, hardened criminals attacking their babies! Sure, it's fearmongering. But if it sells just one gun, it's worth it. =============== "An assault weapon in the hands of a young woman defending her babies in her home becomes a defense weapon and the peace of mind that a woman has as she's facing three, four, five violent attackers, intruders in her home with her children screaming in the background, the peace of mind that she has knowing that she has a scary looking gun gives her more courage when she's fighting hard and violent criminals," Trotter said. "If we ban these types of assault weapons, you are putting women at a great disadvantage." =============== http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/30/politics/congress-guns/index.html
regulator 0 #2 January 30, 2013 So how does this new plan trying to be implemented work with inherited firearms? sorry its off topic...a little bit.
toolbox 0 #3 January 31, 2013 If a big scary gun scares away the bad guys without firing a shot then would'nt that be a good senario? Peace through superior firepower(a line from Point break). I've used my 45 to scare off two bad guys without ever firing a shot. It seems bad guys do not like to target people who can shoot at them.
billvon 3,132 #4 January 31, 2013 >So how does this new plan . . . Which new plan? The Feinstein plan? AFAIK it does not affect "inherited" semiauto rifles. It's just a ban on new sales.

kallend 2,182 #13 January 31, 2013 Nancy Lanza had scary looking guns. Simple FACT is that in domestic violence situations, women with guns in their home are more likely to end up DEAD than those without guns in the home.... You come up with that plan on what you'll do when someone or a few bad guys come in your home and beat your head in with a bat and rape your wife and daughter ? I didn't think so... There are firearms in easy reach when needed in the house and all my kids and wife are very capable to use them... We have a plan and are ready to fight, and ready to go out fighting.... Were you guys have no plan and only hope you can live with your self after they leave you alive , Like the two guys in CT did...

toolbox 0 #25 January 31, 2013 I cant speake for killer or his wife, but if someone broke into our place while my girl was home I would most likely come home to a dead guy with cops there or on the way,or a bad guy with his ass shot off wishing he were dead while she waited for him to suffer and bleed out before she called 911. My girl like most women, would become medevil on your ass if you tried something like that, and she is very good with both long guns and pistols, add her natural awareness and suspiscious nature to that and it = bad news for bad guys. No kidding.
