And you think I didn't double-check before writing to you of all people?

Well, you shot your own self in the foot. If you don't know a partita from a sonata, what kind of credibility do you expect to have?

Oh Dear Lord. :S:P:P

Is that from a cantata?

I once found something in a fictional work I was reading. It has served me pretty well despite the context in which I found it.

People are stupid. They will believe most anything if they fear it to be true or hope it is true. Sometimes, the more outrageous it is, the better.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott

I grew up listening to my cousin play.
Probably my passion for the classics.
Although, I admit a love for the tenors beginning with Lanza.

I'll need to let you know when she heads your way... http://www.loscello.com
Maybe we could have dinner with her, then listen to her play?
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

The NRA is playing you folks like violins.

The NRA is vibrating us with taut horsehair until we hum a firm but pleasant tone?

I find a lot of comedy in this.

Guys making bullets gotta love it.

Reloading has been a hobby of mine for a long time. A lot of people do it. It's an interesting craft I've shared with my kids and it saves quite a bit of $$ on ammo.

I also bake bread, brew beer and build furniture. I guess I'm a DIY kind of guy. :)
BTW, I'm making rounds of ammunition, not bullets. Bullets are the little pointy round projectiles that shoot out the barrel. You buy bullets, press them into a brass casing with powder and a new primer, and then you have a round of ammunition. You might want to get that correctly so you can sound like you know what you're talking about.;)

But while we're on the subject, I have made bullets in the past. You need a bullet mold and lead melter, which I borrowed. It was more work than I wanted, but my son and I had fun doing it, you know, working with molten metal and casting stuff. No wonder he's so handy. :)
I haven't paid too much attention to this thread but I'm guessing you're anti-gun? :D

Ummm - not only was Obama not born in Kenya, he is not a 79 year old woman either. Jeez, you people!

Right, because he has already told her not to bother because he has no intentions of signing it. :S

You left wingers....so naive...........

And I must say I'm rather pissed about the amount of hysteria our administration has caused. $100 for 500 .224 55gr bullets is insane. As is $75 for a damn magazine. Granted I've got quite a bit of ammo and mags for my black guns, but I try to keep a certain surplus and still be able to go to the range and punch some holes in paper to maintain my shooting skills.

Also, .22lR is damn near impossible to get. Why? I get the run on 223 and 7.62x39, but .22?

You should try reloading. Sure the intitial investment is a lot like skydiving, but once you have all the gear you will save quite a bit. Then youll be like me with a bucket policing brass at the range.

I do. I've got a Dillon 550 RL and several caliber conversions. And yes John, I was talking about 500 bullets (just the lead bit) were $100.

I dont reload but, I have heard it is almost impossible to find powder now too

You can always use/get a smelter and a die set and melt your own bullets. My dad has several thousand pounds of lead castings. Its a pain in the ass but it can be done. We always use his lead projectiles for target pistol shooting at close range.

I would classify myself as anti-murder

If I thought that we could have the most guns in the world per capita, and not slaughter each other at levels in line with Yemen, I would be all for arming whoever with whatever.

As it sits I am not convinced thats the right way to go.

Thanks for the info on bullet/ammo difference.

I certainly am not a gun enthusiast and chose the vernacular in my statement.

I was speaking to the manufacturing companies enjoying the increased profits from rising prices (of ammunition) when there is no real market force driving the price... just fear.

BTW, a coworker just sold a bunch of .223 rounds for 80 cents each. Crazy.:S

A friend told me he recently priced 30-round .223 magazines and they'd increased from $19 each in early December to $80 each in mid-January. I guess I'm good on those for awhile. :D

So the Government considered banning Beanie Babies too??

The only reason 30 round magazines are going up in price is because of the proposed legislation banning them. Otherwise they would be cheap.

Nagative. So far there is no proposed legislation. The price increases are based on pure speculation of sellers and collectors, just like Beenie Babies.

I dont really care about it. I just like to point out as much as you claim to know about obama...unless you were there at the birth, then you dont know with 100% certainty that he WASNT born in kenya.

True and yet an incredibly stupid argument because even though YOU were at your own birth, YOU don't know with 100% certainty YOU weren't born in Kenya. You've taken the word of your parents and the documentation provided. At a certain point, we all have to rely on the documents that exist.
