jcd11235 0 #51 January 27, 2013 QuoteHow about a mixture? I remember when Quade was blaming the NRA for spreading fear during the time that nobody heard anything from them. All responses are predictable. I'd consider that possibility were it not for the absence of factual information in the NRA rhetoric. One would think that, if more guns really make the US safer, why is the NRA so opposed to further research and credible analyses that could potentially confirm that hypothesis? It looks an awful lot like the NRA know their rhetoric is BS, nothing more than scare tactics.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! Bignugget 0 #53 January 27, 2013 QuoteQuoteQuoteI joined the NRA because of Obama and Feinstein. Had no real interest before all this bullshit. +1, never owned a gun before, not really to interested. Went out and bought a 9mm just because I can ( right now ). Going out to the range today with my neighbor. Who knows maybe, maybe I will turn from a rather uninterested to NRA member soon May I strongly suggest some organized training? This is what I meant. So I don't know the answer to your question precisely pops. But how I see it is Fear--->Random dude buying 9mm (while he still can) I dont know who/what comes before the Fear, but thats who I would be "blaming for the high price of ammo". Prices increase as sellers see more random dudes wanting 9mm's etc.
rushmc 23 #54 January 27, 2013 QuoteBwahahaha... Oh my god. The NRA has been playing the gun owners like violins for decades. They work hand in glove to drive up gun sales through the fear of them being taken away. The suckers react to the fear every time. Consider the run on guns before Obama even took office. There was absolutely no threat whatsoever of him addressing guns during his first term. NONE. In fact, he allowed relaxations of laws to pass. Yet there was Wayne screaming like a little baby about to get his lollypop taken away. People ran out and bought everything in sight. Here we go again. And Obama is playing you like a proctoligist uses a glove"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abraham Lincoln
quade 4 #55 January 27, 2013 Gee Marc, that was almost clever. It wasn't, but almost. Tell me again, exactly what it is Obama has done? Did he, for instance, allow crazy people to have better access to guns? Nope. That was NRA lobbying. Did he take away your guns? Nope. In fact, he even said he wasn't going to do that. Not even your precious AR-15. He said it several times, yet Wayne keeps screaming like a baby that's what's going to happen. So, exactly, what has Obama done? Defend your claims.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

On January 14, he threatened to sign 19 executive orders into place including Feinstein's ban on "assault weapons." quade 4 #61 January 28, 2013 Well, you obviously didn't do a very good job of it. He signed 23 executive orders about things like mental health checks and background check, never "threatened" anything, and asked Congress to look into increased regulation. He absolutely did NOT threaten to sign an executive order to ban guns of any type whatsoever. There is a world of difference between asking Congress to look into something and threatening to sign an executive order. His is a reasonable and measured approach that is absolutely within and respecting his authority or lack thereof.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

JohnMitchell 16 #64 January 28, 2013 Quote And I must say I'm rather pissed about the amount of hysteria our administration has caused. $100 for 500 .224 55gr bullets is insane. Are you talking rounds of ammo or bullets? 20 cents a round for .223 ammo ain't bad. Twice what is should be for bullets. But bullets doubled in price 4 year ago when Obama first got elected. ***Also, .22lR is damn near impossible to get. Why? I get the run on 223 and 7.62x39, but .22? Some of the proposed ammo taxes would kill .22LR prices. BTW, a coworker just sold a bunch of .223 rounds for 80 cents each. Crazy.

Why is it linking through some senators website?
Bignugget 0 #70 January 28, 2013 A link showing how Obama has instituted all kinds of tariffs on the import of bullet making materials would be much better evidence he had done something to drive the prices up. Go for that instead of fear mongering. The dude has been around 5 years, you can still get all the guns n ammo you could get when Bush was around. I'm sure hes (about) to make his move (to take all guns).....but he hasn't yet. As long as people keep believing ^^^ that, the price will artificially inflate, and you guys can feed your own unhappiness.

YOU believe that hocus pocus smoke screen, too? You guys are out of your minds if you think people are scrambling for ammo because of anything the NRA has put forth. You're killin' me... It's because your dumb-ass "representatives", along with Obama's idiocy, are threatening to take the weapons away from law-abiding citizens. OMG how can people be so obtuse.
