Iran unlikely to develop a Nuke

Recommended Posts

According to Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz head of the IDF.

If the supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wants, he will advance it to the acquisition of a nuclear bomb, but the decision must first be taken. It will happen if Khamenei judges that he is invulnerable to a response. I believe he would be making an enormous mistake, and I don't think he will want to go the extra mile. I think the Iranian leadership is composed of very rational people. But I agree that such a capability, in the hands of Islamic fundamentalists who at particular moments could make different calculations, is dangerous.

More and more Israeli defence and intelligence bosses think Netanyahu is untrustworthy on Iran.

Yuval Diskin former head of Shin said of Netanyahu and Barak only two days after Gen Benny Gantz's statement "I have observed them from up close … They are not people who I, on a personal level, trust to lead Israel to an event on that scale and carry it off … They tell the public that if Israel acts, Iran won't have a nuclear bomb. This is misleading. Actually, many experts say that an Israeli attack would accelerate the Iranian nuclear race."

Eduh Olmet recently said to hawkish US Likudniks that

“As a concerned Israeli citizen who lives in the state of Israel with his family and all of his children and grandchildren,” he said, “I love very much the courage of those who live 10,000 miles away from the state of Israel and are ready that we will make every possible mistake that will cost lives of Israelis.”

Surely they have a point, lets hope the USA doesn't get pushed into supporting a war which will be a disaster for everyone involved.
