"We the People" Petition Site

Recommended Posts

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions

I just took a look at this site, and it certainly appears to me that the state of civics education in the United States is bad. Some of them are funny, like “Eliminate armed guards for the President, Vice-President and their families and establish “Gun Free Zones” around them. Others are just odd.

“Keep Piers Morgan in the USA.” Sounds interesting, but what if he wants to leave?

“Force Facebook to Block All Child Pornography.” Sounds nice, but what if Facebook cannot?

Here’s a favorite: “Teach Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy in all Medical Schooling.” If there’s one thing we need, it’s a bureaucrat whose job it is to monitor CRPS educational mandates. It’s not a standard of care issue but a federal government one.

Or another one: “…We need a cure for Neuroblastoma NOW!” Petitioning the federal government solves this?

“Legalize marijuana for recreational use in Ohio.” Ever hear of federalism?

This petition site truly is an eye-opener.

My wife is hotter than your wife.

Who cares what he wants? Keep him there by force if need be!

And yet the answer to keep kids safe is more guns, not more education.

(and no this post is not directed at anybody in particault, just a general observation)

Any way we could get Jeremy to punch him in the mouth again?

Paxman? :D That would be something to see.

Is it irony that there are no petitions on Climate Change of Global Warming?

Ironic? Nope. The government is actively engaged in the climate change discussion already. Petitions have a life span on the site as well, so there may have been other petitions that asked for specific things WRT the environment that have timed out.

Just like the answer to alcoholism is more alcohol.

Paxman's more of a street fighter. Swift headbutt and a crafty knee to the kidneys is his style.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Banning alcohol sure worked out well.

Your analogy doesn't work no matter how you put it. When a mad man is running around trying to kill people you call guys with guns to deal with it, no matter what the mad man is armed with.
