lawrocket 3 #1 December 27, 2012 https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions I just took a look at this site, and it certainly appears to me that the state of civics education in the United States is bad. Some of them are funny, like “Eliminate armed guards for the President, Vice-President and their families and establish “Gun Free Zones” around them. Others are just odd. “Keep Piers Morgan in the USA.” Sounds interesting, but what if he wants to leave? “Force Facebook to Block All Child Pornography.” Sounds nice, but what if Facebook cannot? Here’s a favorite: “Teach Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy in all Medical Schooling.” If there’s one thing we need, it’s a bureaucrat whose job it is to monitor CRPS educational mandates. It’s not a standard of care issue but a federal government one. Or another one: “…We need a cure for Neuroblastoma NOW!” Petitioning the federal government solves this? “Legalize marijuana for recreational use in Ohio.” Ever hear of federalism? This petition site truly is an eye-opener. My wife is hotter than your wife.

labrys 0 #9 December 27, 2012 QuoteIs it irony that there are no petitions on Climate Change of Global Warming? Ironic? Nope. The government is actively engaged in the climate change discussion already. Petitions have a life span on the site as well, so there may have been other petitions that asked for specific things WRT the environment that have timed out.Owned by Remi #? Your analogy doesn't work no matter how you put it. When a mad man is running around trying to kill people you call guys with guns to deal with it, no matter what the mad man is armed with.
