And as someone who lived through and remembers the civil rights conflicts and race riots of the 1960s, and the vicious debates and all the demonstrations (and sometimes riots or shootings like at Kent State) over the Vietnam War, I think the divisions in the US easily rivaled those of today. *** So reading the other post my imagination ran away from me and I truly wonder if we are as devided as in the 60's, but on to my silly question. ok, lets face it, the USA is in many ways very messed up, on the positive side, sexism and racism are at a low point, however we are tearing ourselves up on many issues *gun control comes to mind atm (gee, wonder why) lets totally depart from reality for a moment - imagine you were given the power to change one thing in reality, A thing, items/tools but no changing people however - what would be the most important thing that you would mould to your liking? - this effect would be worldwide so... magically removing all firearms? beer fountains everywhere? bring back twinkies? whatever you can imagine but just one thing, no add ons... and no using your ability to make others have the same ability. also put in what you imagine would be the ramifications of this change. my 'one' thing. *I love my guns, I own many and have my concealed carry permit, however ... I am tired of people inflicting harm on children and other innocents using the tools I carry for protection and fun. My one thing would be to make them all cease to function - gunpowder would no longer ignite, they would all become a heirloom/ paperweight to be handed down with story's of "back when" yes - this is a silly question but I really do wonder what others "single most important thing" would be so please indulge my curiosity. I also ask that when someone puts up an answer that others dont jump on them about it - we are departing from reality so anything is possible. RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... I don't like the idea of large mobs being able to run rampant in the streets with no way to stop them. So I'll keep my guns operational thank you. But I'd like to see those in charge lose their short-sightedness and be able to act with long-term consequences in mind. Mandatory nudity makes perfect sense if there were nothing but 120lb women running around. But when obese men and women are a growing demographic in society, well that is just cruel on the eyes. Plus it's been in the -20s for the last little while with little hope of warming up in the short term where I live. That is just cruel thinking mandatory nudity should be used when it is so cold.
