RonD1120 62 #1 December 20, 2012 From my perspective and, I am not alone, we are heading into a bad, bad span of time. The reelection of BHO is the harbinger of disaster. It is not BHO that is the problem. The problem is the mentality of those who voted for him. The America that I was raised in and love is gone. I and those like me are going to retreat to our quiet enclaves and do what we can to survive, minister and share Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Merry Christmas to you all. Be safe and make the best of 2013 because 2014 is going to be much worse. When you come to the end of it and you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. Jesus is the answer, may you find Him now. I remain one of the watchmen on the wall. I simply report what I see from my vantage point. You have to make your own decisions. StreetScooby 5 #3 December 21, 2012 Quote From my perspective and, I am not alone, we are heading into a bad, bad span of time. People have no idea. Bernanke is printing money like its free, and he has been doing that for years now. When the Fed finally loses control of US interest rates, and they will, expect a rapid multi-year decline in living standards that few in this country will be prepared to deal with. And, it may last for decades, if not generations. Free medical care... ha! What they'll be getting won't be considered medical care by current standards. In our life time, I expect the US govt to be paying $1T/year in interest alone, and that's in current dollars. It is going to be unlike anyone currently alive can imagine, and it won't stop in our lifetime, or our children's lifetime. We are all engines of karma

billvon 3,160 #5 December 21, 2012 >The America you were raised in? I am guessing 60's - 70's. Back when AIDS was on its way to becoming an epidemic - and we didn't even have a name for it, much less a treatment. When the US was, at several points, minutes away from a nuclear exchange that would have killed millions. Back when tens of thousands of Americans were dying in Vietnam on a war that had been started on a false pretense. Back when everyone knew that the hippies and beatniks were going to destroy America with their free love and irresponsible lifestyles. Drug-using, college dropout hippies like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were against everything the Greatest Generation stood for. Yep, those were the good old days. Not like today when we are seeing all the signs of the End of Days - more healthcare, the ends of two wars, mean politicians and too many trophies. NewGuy2005 53 #8 December 21, 2012 QuoteFrom my perspective and, I am not alone, we are heading into a bad, bad span of time. I think we are heading into the very best span of time. I grew up listening to "prophesies" from other watchmen on the walls like yourself and they were all wrong, each and every one of them. Yours is wrong as well. funjumper101 15 #10 December 21, 2012 You really should quit reading the weird, twisted information sources you rely on and try getting a more realistic perspective on the way of the world. Challenge yourself by reading BBC news, Al Jazeera english language version, perhaps the Straits Times out of Singapore, for a starting point. I do go and look at Newsmax, ond other similar sites, from time to time. Every once in a blue moon, a small portion of what they present makes some sense. The rest seems to be a whole lot of echo chamberish repetition of things that are patently ridiculous. The Harvard trained lawyer, that spent several years as a Professor of Constitutional Law, is not an extreme left winger, or a socialist boogeyman. He is a moderate centrist, by any reasonable standards. You really have nothing to fear from his Presidency. You really should be afraid of the people who keep pumping out implausible bullshit, repeating it over and over again, to the point where you have actually come to believe the lies you are being fed. Those are the folks to be afraid of. The demonization of the "others" is an old, reliable propoganda technique that has been honed to a fine art by the right wing media machine. If they can keep you afraid, very very afraid, of your fellow citizens, thay have you under their control. Progressives and liberals are not evil people, out to destroy the USA. The best and most positive changes in the US society have come out of liberal/prograssive ideals. None of the conservatives here have ever been able to list anything positive that has come out of Conservative philosophy. Conservatives opposed child labor laws in the early part of the last century. Conservatives opposed women's suffrage. Conservatives opposed the New Deal. Conservatives opposed Social Security and Medicare, two programs YOU personally rely on for your daily existence. They continue to oppose them and try to cut/eliminate the programs YOU personally rely on. Why would you support those that would screw up your life in a major way? It doesn't make rational sense. Liberal/Progressives have much more in common with you than than you think. The folks that run the media outlets that are filling your mind with lies are the ones that you should be against. Not your fellow average citizens that truly belive in the ideals of the USA.
