lawrocket 3 #1 December 17, 2012 Daniel Inouye died today. Democratic senator from Hawaii since 1963. About a month short of 50 years in the Senate. Most probably remember him from being owned by Ollie North and Brendan “I’m not a potted plant” Sullivan during the Iran-Contra hearings that saw Ollie go from hated zealot to national hero-type dude (though he should have been in prison). Most don’t know that he earned a Medal of Honor. It was awarded to him by President Clinton, but I think the guy deserved it (getting gut shot, then trying to take out a bunker with a grenade, getting his arm blown off, then still attacking with a grenade, then getting shot in the leg – that’s a tough fucker fighting for a country that would otherwise have interned him) I disagree vehemently with plenty of his political positions. But I still honor the man for his lifetime of service. RIP Daniel Inouye. My wife is hotter than your wife.

A great American is being fondly remembered in this thread and that is what you come up with? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board. Channman 2 #8 December 18, 2012 > though he should have been in prison?? Well, I for one hold Ollie as an American Hero, certainly not deserving of any prison time but a ticker tap paradeHad the great fortune to meet him in person on two occassions and have his books autograghed.
