airdvr 210 #1 November 16, 2012 I guess talking points is the new euphemism for 'making sure everyone is telling the same lie'. http://security.blogs.cnn.com/2012/11/16/where-did-the-talking-points-on-benghazi-come-from/?hpt=hp_t1 "He (Patraeus) had told us that this was a terrorist attack and there were terrorists involved from the start," King said. "I told him, my questions, I had a very different recollection of that (earlier account)," he said. "The clear impression we (lawmakers) were given was that the overwhelming amount of evidence was that it arose out of a spontaneous demonstration and it was not a terrorist attack." Bold is mine. If it quacks like a duck...Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
blueblur 0 #2 November 16, 2012 It is sounding more and more like Petraeus is not going to fall on his sword in this instance. More of a "don't look at me, I told you all along..." stanceIn every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's all you get, so appreciate them while the time you have with them lasts. - RiggerLee
CarpeDiem3 0 #3 November 16, 2012 Mortar fire is not something that occurs spontaneously. You have to acquire the mortars. You have to carry them in within range. You position them somewhere protected and hidden. You sight them in. You have a spotter watch where the rounds drop to adjust fire. That all takes deliberate forethought that takes group action. There's nothing at all spontaneous about it.
