blueblur 0 #7 November 16, 2012 Happened to a major NFL star a few years back, Plaxico Burress. He happened to be illegally carrying the gun that shot him in his own leg and spent time (21 months) in prison for carrying that gun without a valid permit. Even money doesn't fix stupid. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. It wouldn't happen if people weren't so ignorant about guns and decided that picking them up and playing with them was a bad idea. Education IS important. So, do you hunt down and confiscate every weapon? Or do you train the ignorant on minimal firearms safety? so which is the easier problem to solve?-- Rob

Let's do away with all the possibilities of good outcomes so that there will only be bad ones in our putrid little lives." Thanks but no thanks my friend. Do you really, honestly think that doing away with the 2nd amendment will make you any safer from the criminal elements? Do you really, honestly think that it would be a good idea to prevent that honest, law-abiding gun owner from protecting your ass when the crooks throw down on you? Do you really think the police are going to be there to protect you instead? If not gun owners and not police, then who?My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Obviously the legislation must work as no legally owned handguns have been used to commit crime since.Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

Did you buy her a fifth of liquor to go with the car, and tell her to go out and get drunk and drive? You have to be 18 to purchase a long gun, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, you can POSSESS either prior to those ages, you just can't buy one on your own. So you can use dad's guns, or one that someone else gives you, and you can OWN that gun. Pf course I didn't by my daughter the 5th, I am a responsible parent. I am also a responsible gun owner. Ages for when a person can by a gun, varies state to state, and still doesn't make your analogy any better, or even 100% correct. Treat criminals as criminals, prosecute and punish them, stop giving them more rights than their victims. Make prison tough and hard on them, get rid of all the niceties they have. If there is no reward for crime of sustenance, then we will just have to deal with crimes of passion. Your arguments are invalid, weak, and well, just anti individual rights, rights we are born with by the way, only reaffirmed by a piece of parchment. You don't like guns, i get it, don't own one and go live where they aren't going to be the focus of your unreasonable. MattAn Instructors first concern is student safety. It wouldn't happen if guns weren't lying around loose all over... Why are the actions of an uneducated person doing something stupid transferred to an entire group of people? Failure to learn about anything that has the potential to kill you and then saying the problem is the availability of guns is not right at all. By this argument I guess all skydivers are irresponsible, because I saw a new jumper get himself a sabre 135 this weekend and hurt himself. This wouldn't happen if parachutes weren't laying around everywhere. Not having any knowledge on firearms and then attacking them is just as bad. EVERYONE should know how to handle and clear one to render it safe and follow BASIC gun safety rules. Cars are just as dangerous if not more so but you don't here anyone screaming to get cars off the streets. I've seen articles where someone had 5 DUI's and then killed someone driving. This is not the fault of the car or the judge or police officer, it's the fault of the person who gets behind the wheel. NO 16 year old should have access to a firearm! If that happens the OWNER of that firearm should be brought up on charges. That is an example of an uneducated gun owner. With great power comes great responsibility and I find it ironic that just about every politician out there who is anti gun walks around with armed guards to protect him or her. Trying to figure out who is going to do something stupid with a gun or who is going to not be responsible is predicting the future. By that argument I would love to see them do the same with Drunk driving because it kills far more people each year then firearm accidents. I don't blame the alcohol or the vehicle, I blame the driver because that is who is responsible.Trail mix? Oh, you mean M&M's with obstacles.
