billvon 3,120 #5 November 15, 2012 Between 1967 and 1990, 151 abortions were performed in the US to save the mother's life. So it's possible but statistically unlikely. It is more likely in this case that early detection and treatment of the sepsis (through abortion OR through other treatment) would have saved her life.
