I think anyone in his situation (loser, having been trying for a really long time) would have a very difficult time looking at it objectively. You need a pretty strong ego just to try to run.

I listened to Romney with an open mind prior to the election, but I'm not granting him even that little bit of cover re: his post-election conduct. At least McCain, in electoral defeat, knows how to behave like an adult. Romney is nothing more than a whiny bitch.

BHO promised entitlements, refused to accept responsibility for the economy because it was Bush's fault and gave away more. He bowed to foreign dignitaries and insulted our strongest ally in the Mideast. He has had two major cover ups in his administrations involving the deaths of Americans serving their country.

Romney told it like it is.

The office of President of the United States has lost honor.

You might say that a guy who doesn't have an actual job, yet pulls in $20 million a year on which he pays only 14% in federal income taxes because of how the tax system is so skewed in his favor perhaps should not be talking so contemptuously about the government giving people gifts.

In GOP world only benefits that accrue to the common folk are gifts. Huge tax breaks for the very wealthy and government largesse for corporations are fine.

Give it up. It's just not getting any traction no matter how much republicans whine about it.

Yep. 'Merican apathy at it's best.
My reality and yours are quite different.

Yeah, that was exactly my reasoning for voting democratic this year. :S

But if deluding yourself with that same bullshit repeatedly makes you somehow feel better, keep it coming. It makes for fun reading (in a sad way).

Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Not my fault that the "Party of No" retains control of the House.

Yep, No more spending. Pisses you off doesn't it? :D

The current gridlock doesn't actually prevent the government from spending. They pass continuing resolutions instead which spends the money just the same but without the benefit of improved direction or setting of priorities to achieve the reductions everyone is after. Sequestration would be an equally stupid way to approach fiscal policy except it ends up being even worse when you consider how much redlining from congress is going to go on if federal agencies are made to try and implement the cuts.

I'm reminded of the demotivator poster, "Government: If you think the problems we create are bad, just wait until you see our solutions."

The republicans did the same thing in the mid nineties, leading to government shutdowns and guess what happened then... Clinton got re-elected and when things finally did get sorted out, he came out way ahead politically. Boehner and the rest of the republicans need to look really carefully at what happened there.

Don't try to put words in my mouth. You don't speak for me sonny boy.

The N-word is not part of my vocabulary or my vernacular. Rest assured, if I wanted to use it I would. I am not shy.

McCain knew he was losing, had time to accept that reality. He took his wild stab with Palin, didn't pan out.

Romney, thanks in part to a new failure in statistical analysis (should be interesting reading in a couple years when/if people make an honest review of where it went wrong) really thought he was going to win. He did manage to do the concession speech alright, but clearly still wasn't right with it all. IIRC, this whinefest was another instance where he didn't realize the press or outsiders were listening...so we probably got a more honest version of Mitt than usual.

Yup. I think this whinefest shows that Mitt would have looked upon the half of the country that didn't vote for him with the same contempt that W did after 2000 and 2004, had he won this election.

No one can outdo Al Gore and Democrats in 2000.

To be fair, the polls largely predicted Obama to lead in battleground states. The failure was with the Romney campaign's polling, not statistical analyses in general.

seems to extend beyond Romney - to Fox and to many others in the GOP. Yes, it's an example of a subset of pollsters either screwing up or deliberately skewing in an attempt to make it a reality. Either way, good stuff...if people will be forthcoming about how it went down. They may instead just hunker down and try to pretend it didn't happen.

Fox got its own dose of reality TV on election night, yet it is still operating in a fantasy of its own making.

Fox doesn't have any political agenda. I know this, because Roger Ailes said so, after the election.

Yep

Thats pretty funny.
Reading the comments is very illuminating to see the bigotry and racism of people who think like this, and hide behind the word "Patriot"

To Paraphrase:
"We are sore we lost, and therefore we should try and sidestep democracy to get a good ole white boy back in the white house as it should be rather than this uppity mooslem"

Fortunately, I think its the vocal minority.

I've thought for a long time (Dec 2000 when it was proposed by many democrat "sore losers") that was a better way to allocate the votes. Regardless of who wins, it protects less populous states as the electoral college was originally intended to, and at the same time lets the allocation of electoral votes more representative of the local population. However, it opens the possibility of more gerrymandering which would have to be guarded against.

If it happened in ALL states, not a problem. Doing it in cherry picked states just to give the GOP an advantage is a huge problem.

The GOP has already gerrymandered the congressional districts. Which is why the GOP has a House majority despite having fewer votes overall for its House candidates than the Dems.
