“I’ve struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from God, and even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”; Indiana’s Republican Senate nominee, Richard Mourdock.

Kudos to Romney for disavowing Mourdock's vile comments.

Well, I guess that also explains why that Starbucks barista in Oregon was sodomized and murdered one morning by her neighbor. I was wondering why that had happened.

Well well, it turns our that Romney HAS endorsed this dangerous idiot.

Stand on abortion

Although Jackson was one of the most liberal members of the Democratic Party, his position on abortion was originally more in line with pro-life views. Within one month after the 1973 Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, legalized abortion, Jackson began a PUSH campaign against the decision, calling abortion murder and declaring that Jesus and Moses might not have been born if abortion had been available in ancient times.[12] Jackson's strong rhetoric on abortion temporarily alienated one of his major supporters, Dr. T.R.M Howard, a black physician who made a living from performing abortions.[12] In 1975, Jackson endorsed a plan for a constitutional amendment banning abortion.[46] He also endorsed the Hyde Amendment, which bars the funding of abortions through the federal Medicaid program. Writing in a 1977 National Right to Life Committee News report, Jackson argued that the basis for Roe v. Wade—the right to privacy—was also a premise that had been used to justify slavery and the treatment of slaves on the plantations. Jackson and decried what he believed was the casual taking of life, and the decline in society's value system. However, Jackson later adopted a pro-choice view that abortion is a right and that the government should not prevent a woman from having an abortion.[47]

Well, Romney hasn't withdrawn his endorsement of Mourdock despite being well aware of the vile statement, so presumably he agrees that pregnant rape victims are God's will.

I can't imagine why ANY female would vote for a guy like Mourdock (or Akin, or Walsh, or Ryan).

I disagree entirely with the results of his statement, but it's a statement of belief, not a statement of (false) fact, and that's a big difference.

Romney has distanced himself from the belief, and at the same time respected his right to feel as he does. Frankly, I think that speaks well of Romney.

The guy's being honest about his belief, and giving his reason for it. Hopefully his electorate will take that into account when they vote. Of course, if none of them has ever been raped or molested, and if they think that people who are "had it coming," then he might still be elected.[:/]

Do you really want people who think this way to be in a position of making laws to govern what the women of the USA may do with their own bodies?

That's why I vote against them, and sometimes even work against them in campaigns.

Just like it's God's will Obama not get reelected as per the 40 days of prayer thread haha. And it was God's will 250,000 people died in the Christmas Eve Tsunami in Indonesia.

The problem with the "God's will" argument is that EVERYTHING can be explained/blamed/argued with God's Will, since by definition, no one can know it. Must give people some very peaceful sleep at night knowing everything good or bad is God's will.

(Not arguing with you Kall, I actually agree even though we don't share the same political thoughts.)
In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's all you get, so appreciate them while the time you have with them lasts.
