Anvilbrother 0 #4 October 23, 2012 QuoteNot only does Obama not know how many states there are, he also doesn’t know where they are. During the 2008 primary campaign, he explained why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” Obama’s home state of Illinois, and not Arkansas, shares a border with Kentucky. Gravitymaster 0 #7 October 23, 2012 Yep, this clearly demostrates Romney is an idiot. Forget about being sucessful in business, Governor of Massachusettes, saving the Olympics and everything else he has accomplished in his life. We shouldn't vote for him because he made a small geographic faux pax. In fact, I would be willing to bet that if he was given a chance to explain, he would say that he meant if Iran took control of Syria, their seaports would allow Iran access to the Mediterranean Sea. But lets jump all over every small error because this clearly demostrates he's not mentally capable of being President. Probably kicks small dogs, too. Anvilbrother 0 #8 October 23, 2012 Who cares how many times unless we KNOW what he is actually meaning, and not just meaning a closer route to the Mediterranean, or if he actually thinks hes they are land locked it doesn't matter. Unless you can ask the man himself and verify he actually means that they are land locked then just like the "terror act" comment from the rose garden its all a waste of time to argue. Read, and read the comments also Yes, I liked this bit: Mitt Romney repeated his contention that Syria is Iran’s route to the sea. This is a puzzling claim, considering that Syria shares no border with Iran — Iraq and Turkey are in the way — and that Iran has about 1,500 miles of coastline along the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, leading to the Arabian Sea. Anvilbrother 0 #14 October 23, 2012 QuoteBoston Globe had looked into this statement at the time of the Arizona debate. The Globe noted that “given that Iran borders the sea, it seems to be an odd claim that Syria is Iran’s route to the sea.” The newspaper noted that Iran is able to reach the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal. But it said that “Romney’s comments are more accurate than they first seem,” citing a news report that Iran was building an army base in Syria and quoting an expert on the importance of Syria to Iran. Not from his staff, what now? Just about everything obama has done or said is odd, these are PEOPLE not robots. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Anvilbrother 0 #22 October 23, 2012 I just roughly Google earth path measured the distances from Iran to The Mediterranean Sea. 1000 miles from Tehran to the Mediterranean sea through Syria vs going over 4000 miles to go around and through the Suez canal... Use you head what was he meaning when he meant "route to the sea"! No one is landlocked in that region so that makes it even more of a stretch for you to say he did not know that it had 3 bodies of water on its borders. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. But, he was trying to set a metaphor that he never finished... in highlighting the ties between the two countries, claimed that Syria “is also their route to the sea.” [meaning the sea of terrorism]. Ya know the one gaffe that EVERYONE has overlooked was when Romney said that we "can't kill our way of this" then 2 minutes later said, "We will need to kill again." At THAT POINT... the President took over and, oh so, did not pounce when he should have. Ya know.. in the end, I wish the both of them would take the little Clinton hick story-telling out of their mantras. Sounds so stupid when they say, I was taking to a girl who was just 4 and her daddy..... Then it becomes a who can beat who's heart-throbbing story and it's just friggin pitiful.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
