kallend 2,151 #4 October 22, 2012 Would this be like Romney and Ryan having more flexibility to devise their tax scheme after the election?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
Anvilbrother 0 #5 October 22, 2012 More like Nancy Pelosi saying we have to pass the health care bill so that the American people can actually find out what's in it..... Also please show me where Obama's "official" on paper plan is for the next 4 years is so we all can read it. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. SkyDekker 1,465 #6 October 22, 2012 Sorry, I don't understand the outrage. He does have much more flexibility to negotiate on missile defence after the election. During the current campaign it would be almost impossible to negotiate anything like that. Unless some idiot completely takes the statement out of context. But then I'm sure some are stupid enough to do so.

Anvilbrother 0 #8 October 22, 2012 Since I'm the idot you imply. Also tell me why if what he is trying to do would be so good for everyone, he would need to defer it to his next term or else risk not being reelected? Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. SkyDekker 1,465 #9 October 22, 2012 QuoteTell me why they want him to be more flexible, an why it would be a good or bad thing. They want him to? He was saying that at this point in time, negotiations would be futile. He would have to take a public stance and would be unable to move from it due to the elections. Since that is not a very effective way of negotiating, it is better to wait until after the elections, since he has more flexibility. Pretty common sense. Anvilbrother 0 #10 October 22, 2012 That's what I am asking you. If what he is trying to do is not on the up and up, why hide it until his second term? Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,
GeorgiaDon 380 #11 October 22, 2012 QuoteThat's what I am asking you. If what he is trying to do is not on the up and up, why hide it until his second term?Do you honestly believe this Congress would pass anything Obama proposes, on any subject whatsoever? This Congress that has repeatedly turned its back on longstanding Republican policies when Obama has included them in proposed legislation? This Congress that is lead by people who declare, in the midst of the worst recession in decades, that their #1 priority is to ensure that Obama is a one-term president? The surest way to ensure the death of any legislation, nomination, or treaty would be for Obama to propose it before the election. If you think there is any "flexibility" in the way Congress has been behaving, you've either not been paying attention, or you are blind. One of the things I hate the most about American politics is that everyone complains that politicians lie, then they get their panties all in a wad when one says something that is actually true. Anvilbrother 0 #12 October 22, 2012 If what Obama wants to do is such a good idea then why isnt he talking about it on tv, putting the GOP on blast for blocking such a good idea he has, and harming the safety of the country? In stead he is putting it off to the side so he can try to get reelected to take part in unpopular trade with Russia.... Either way if its a good thing, he is putting his second term in front of the security of the Country. If what he wants is a bad thing he is hiding it from us. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. kallend 2,151 #13 October 22, 2012 QuoteMore like Nancy Pelosi saying we have to pass the health care bill so that the American people can actually find out what's in it..... Umm - NO. You are wrong on (at least) 3 counts. 1. Pelosi was quite correct, since a bill is subject to amendment right up until it is passed. 2. Pelosi wasn't waiting for "flexibility". 2. Romney/Ryan are delaying until after an election (for flexibility), not until passage of a bill. I guess you didn't do so well on your SATs in the section where you have to identify similarities.... Anvilbrother 0 #14 October 22, 2012 1-Its over 2000 pages, she ment what she said she never read it, and diddnt expect anyone else to read it and find all the earmarks and lies. She diddnt say that in a sense like you suggest. 2-your right she wasn't waiting on flexibility she and her crooks were trying to hail mary that bitch through before anyone realize how bad it really is. 3-what does this have to do with this? What I was referring to was she was trying to pull the wool over the publics eyes by hiding the bill as it was shoved through, like he is doing by waiting to get reelected before he finishes his deal with Russia. Nice PA with the SAT comment, but I'm sure since you are in line with the mods here you will be ok. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. The end result of the negotiations is not predetermined. All he is saying that at this point he is in no position to negotiate. If you want to read something nefarious into it, fine. I just see it as a summing up the position he is in.
