TDFbound 0 #1 October 17, 2012 I'm new here and noticed a rule stating that discussion of politics, guns, or religion are not tolerated except in this sub-forum. How the heck are firearms in the same category as politics or religion? The way I see it, they are just cool tech gadgets as part of a fun hobby- collecting and shooting various firearms. How is a rifle any different from a new wingsuit, or iPod, or sports car, or woodworking tools? I guess what I am looking for is the reasoning behind placing guns in the same category as politics and religion, because I don't get it.

Many years ago all non-skydiving discussions took place in Bonfire, and many of the forum's users got annoyed by the endless politics/guns/religion arguments that took over that forum. Thus Willem created a new forum - Speaker's Corner - specifically for those topics.
