>The USA will not be the same under Obama's second term.

Sort of a "boy who cried wolf" thing going on there. After all the dire predictions about how Obama would institute Sharia law, ban all guns, kill your grandma etc during his first term, no one really believes the second term fearmongering thing.

However, feel free to vote for whoever you choose.

..... The USA will not be the same under Obama's second term. It will take more than our lifetime to fix.

That may be true. The sad thing is that he is STILL better than the alternative.

Medical treatment rationing in hospitals, no longer able to deduct mortgage interest from income tax payment, increase in Medicare payment, three things that give me a shudder of anxiety.

Do you realize that all those things are more likely to happen if Romney gets his way?

No I don't.

We are in deep trouble regardless. I believe Romney is more experienced with business.

What does that have to do with the fact that he wants to turn back the ACA (except for all the popular and expensive parts) possibly leading to a collapse of the health insurance industry? What does that have to do with the fact that to pay for his top bracket tax cuts he wants to revise the tax code by eliminating deductions, the most significant of which is the mortgage interest deduction? What does that have to do with the fact that he wants to reduce funding for Medicare, which likely means an increase in individual payments?

All of the things you say you fear are the things Romney wants to happen. His business experience has nothing to do with it.

He is a capitalist. Obama is a socialist.

I find your facts amusing because billvon keeps posting that Romney hasn't stated any facts about his plans.

Have you ever been to the Cayman's? Friends have told me it is beautiful down there. Probably easy to get a loan there as well. Soon we will be going there for medical treatment.

Do I realize the VA is screwed up? Yep. It's been that way long before Obama came along. He's at least tried to keep VA funding above the political fray. What does that have to do with anything else in this thread?

Oh, why didn't you just say that? I thought you were concerned about the issues.

He hasn't stated many specifics, true. He has stated that he wants to repeal the ACA, but keep the popular, expensive parts like pre-existing conditions, and extending coverage for twenty-somethings on their parents' plans. That position makes no sense, and will most certainly lead to either a huge rise in insurance premiums, or rationed care. There's no way around it.

He's also laid out a very general plan for cutting tax rates, and paying for it by eliminating deducions. One of the deductions that would have to go for his numbers to come even close is the mortgage interest deduction.

Finally, the fact that he wants to reduce Medicare spending is well known. Do you think a reduction in government spending will increase or decrease your individual contributions?

He may use his business experience to improve the fortures of large corporations. If you think that will translate into lower insurance premiums, keeping your taxes low, and your Medicare affordable, you haven't thought it through.

Frankly, it's kind of sad that you get your politics from poorly made PowerPoint posters, but that's your choice.

I know you'll never vote for Obama, but at least try to educate yourself on the issues, so if Romney is elected you can follow what he's doing and make sure it's the change you desire.

BTW

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

No need to think or discuss honestly when you can simply attach tripe from conservative mailing lists to your post.

I'm convinced that you're one of those The Onion referred to that would vote Ahmadinejad before Obama.

Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

I use poorly made posters as examples for those who skim my posts not for direction. Was your comment a left wing liberal condescension?

As I have stated many times, I believe that the next four years are going to be very disturbing, regardless of who is president. I have to choose, so I did. The BHO administration is despicable and deplorable. We need a change.

No one "tells" me my politics. I don't watch the commentary shows on either side. I do sometimes catch some right-wing radio, but it only reinforces my belief that the right wing has no plan. My political views are being constantly formed as new issues arise, and as I change as a person. I don't think changing your views is a sign of weakness, as long as that change results from a considered thought process. I used to be a hard core Reagan Republican. Now I'm more centerist, but I've lost faith in the Republican party. I see the Democrats as the current lesser of two evils. That may change again in the future.

How's your irony meter looking now?
