Massive Republican voter registration fraud uncovered in Florida

Recommended Posts

Well, the usual stuff (talking about foreign policy, economics, the debt, taxes etc) hasn't worked out for the Romney campaign. Not even Rasmussen's attempts to show them winning has worked. Perhaps they are wisely pursing "alternative means" to win the election.

Makes the GOP's attempts to disenfranchise the poor and elderly in the name of preventing "fraud" (and their support in doing it on this forum) look like a bad case of "he doth protest too much methinks":D

Why isn't FOX covering it? :S

Have you guys even read about what happened from anywhere else other than the most left wing major news outlet? The GOP caught this themselves and took action. It seems like it is a case of one or a couple workers doing this. It is very different when an organization does this for political gain (ACORN). The GOP discovered it and took immediate action stating there is not room ofr voter fraud and they will not have it.

"We've made it clear we're not doing business with these guys anymore," said Spicer. "We've come out pretty strong against this kind of stuff -- and we have zero tolerance for this."

Seems to me ACORN and the Dems were stroking eachothers egos for a lot longer. Republicans found a problem and cut off the supplier. Good job.
Please don't dent the planet.

Yep. I guess they are using the GOP definition of "massive."

It's funny what you chose to address out of my posts.

Really? How does that compare with the number of cases in Indiana or Pennsylvania, which prompted the GOP to try to disenfranchise thousands of elderly and poor citizens?

Kall..... from you I just heard blah, blah, blah. The GOP discovered this and took action. It was clearly not something that was an effort by the party or a group supporting the party like ACORN. I know.... you think the GOP is so dirty and pulls this crap. I think that the Dems are dirty and pull this crap. One thing is for sure.... we should have to present an ID to vote like in Canada.... or like that one very liberal state passed... who was that again? Oh ya.... Rhode Island. Those Dems thought it was a great idea to protect the sanctity of the vote.

I'd have no objection to ID requirements IF, and ONLY IF, the state was pro-active in ensuring that ALL its eligible citizens got the ID free of charge and with no hassle.

Expecting an elderly, disabled, non driving CITIZEN to travel 17 miles to a DMV facility and wait 3 hours in line is totally unacceptable (reported on NPR yesterday).

Oh..... Oh .... NPR. Now you have convinced me. :S

I am pretty sure most if not all of these laws come with a free ID piece them.

"Free" is meaningless if you don't have the means to get to the DMV or other issuing agency.

The GOP RECRUITED this guy because he was good at voter fraud.

" . . .The RNC urged the state GOP in seven swing states to hire the firm, despite the fact that the man who runs it, Nathan Sproul, has been accused of running firms that have destroyed Democratic registrations. Sproul told the newspaper that RNC officials asked him to set up a new firm, Strategic Allied Consulting, so that his efforts would not be linked to those allegations. The RNC has reportedly paid the firm at least $3.1 million via state parties."

Summary - the GOP hired this guy, known for his skill at voter fraud. The GOP asked him to create a new corporation to hide that reputation. They got caught, and now they are claiming that it was "all just some guy."

It's going to be fun watching the GOP use all the same arguments the GOP crucified the democrats for using on ACORN. I would say it's the final nail in the GOP coffin for this election cycle, but I have a feeling they have a nail or two left up their sleeves.

It's a shit sandwich. The GOP folks who hired the guy knew OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN this dude's track record.

I compliment them on the decision to terminate him and publicly disavow any bad the guy did. But I think they should have vetted the guy a bit more prior to hiring.

Hanlon's razor suggests stupidity if this is taken in isolation. HOWEVER, combined with other GOP actions concerning voter registration (or blocking it) I am inclined to believe it's malice.

Edited to add: on giving it further thought, I suspect malice combined with stupidity.

Makes the GOP's attempts to disenfranchise the poor and elderly in the name of preventing "fraud" (and their support in doing it on this forum) look like a bad case of "he doth protest too much methinks":D

WRONG.

The alarm over the latest potential fraud was first raised by Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher, who flagged 106 "questionable" registration applications turned in by SAC this month. Bucher said her staff had raised questions about suspiciously similar signatures and incorrect addresses and dates of birth on the forms.

After Bucher sounded the alarm, election officials in at least 11 Florida counties said they had uncovered potentially fraudulent voter registration forms submitted on behalf of the state Republican Party.

By Friday, county election officials had found dozens of forms turned in by the party that had wrong birthdays or spellings of names that didn't match signatures. In other cases, multiple forms were filled out in the same handwriting. One voter in Palm Beach County was registered to an address that is a Land Rover dealership.

"It was that flagrant," said Ann W. Bodenstein, the elections supervisor in Santa Rosa County, where officials found 100 problematic applications — including one for a dead voter. "In no way did they look genuine."

(1) Substantially increase penalties for voter fraud. (2) Arrest all vote fraudsters as they are discovered (Repubs, Dems, old Jewish ladies from NY who vote twice, latinos, whites, blacks, illegal aliens, olive-skinned, Pennsylvanians, Idahoes, etc, etc.....) and prosecute to the fullest extent. (2) Require a valid photo ID at the polls for each voter. Problem (mostly) solved.

Fox did cover it, saw it on Friday.

Dems should be pushing for voter ID laws. The potential, and the motivation to commit fraud exists on both sides.

You need to show ID to get Social Security and Medicare. Now I read that Canada required ID to vote!

Disenfranchising, blah blah...
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

Gee...seems you sorta left something out of your cute little cut and paste.

While the 106 application forms all bore the Republican Party of Florida's identification number, there did not appear to be an overwhelming partisan bias in the forms.

"They were equal opportunity offenders. They were being paid an hourly wage so I think that was the motivation," she said.

106?! Wait just a minute! 106!?! Wasn't this thread started by the same OP who lamented the wasteful cost of ferreting out a measly 198 illegal voters in that other thread?

This has to be the most silly thread from either side, respective of what's wrong with politics today. For the past 20 years. the mudslinging has now degenerated one of the finest minds in our country.

I feel nothing but sadness for our country because we look like simpletons to the rest of the world. Can we really not find some form of common ground by which to re-build this nation; or are we going to continue to be more divisive as time goes on and ultimately doom ourselves.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
